Camille’s swimming story: I have been swimming on YNS for ten years now, which seems like a long time, but has gone by so fast. I first joined the team when I was eight years old after swimming in a summer program at my town pool, and it was then that I discovered my love of the sport. I instantly connected with the coaches and made friends with the other swimmers, some of whom I am still very close with to this day. These relationships are what drive me to get out of bed in the morning and go to the pool, and what keep me going during tough practices and meets. This sport is physically, mentally, and emotionally challenging, and it is so important to have teammates and coaches that will lift you up and help you work towards your highest potential every day. I have so many memories and funny stories from spending time with my teammates both in and out of the pool, and I am so grateful that this team has allowed me to meet some of my best friends. Additionally, I have loved getting to know the coaches and receiving all their valuable advice, both in life and swimming. Thank you to everyone—coaches, friends, and family—who have helped me throughout my years on YNS. I am so excited to swim in college next year, and I cannot wait to see what challenges and opportunities are ahead of me!
