Scheduling changes, registration renewal, and more!

Nicholas Weiner

I hope you all are enjoying your weekend! Please read this all the way through as there is very important information below.

USA Swimming Registration Renewal
It’s that time of year! Returning members MUST renew their USA Swimming memberships.

Mark your calendars. On Monday, November 7th at 7:00 PM you will have the opportunity to join a Zoom call with yours truly and renew your swimmer(s) membership.

I ask that all returning members THAT HAVEN’T RENEWED YET join this call.

My goal is to have every single membership renewed by November 30th.

Failure to renew will make your swimmer(s) ineligible for practice and competition.

Age Group Program Updates
Due to newly found issues with the pool at Fairport High School, we may have to make schedule changes. We will release the calendar for this month once we know more information regarding our facilities. Keep an eye out for an update in the next day or so.

Yesterday, we held our first technique development clinic! What a success! We’re looking at this Saturday (11/5) for our next clinic. This will be the only opportunity for November. Stay tuned for more information.

As a reminder, locker rooms are for emergencies only. So please come in your suits, ready to go. Also, deck access is limited to authorized representatives of FAST only. For insurance and liability reasons, parents are not allowed on deck during practice!

Meets, meets, meets!
The next meet we will be attending is the BlueFins Fall Splash on November 12th. Entries are being sent tonight. LAST, LAST, LAST CALL!!!!! As a reminder, the coaching staff picks events for the swimmers.

Please note that meet participation is ultimately at the discretion of the coaching staff. To be eligible for swim meet participation, swimmers must be self-sufficient, follow directions, be able to get themselves out of the pool without the ladder on their own, be wearing a team (royal blue) competition suit, a FAST team cap, and be able to swim at least two competitive strokes legally for the distance specific to their age group.

You can find the FAST meet calendar on our website under the Calendars tab or by clicking here.

FAST Team Suits and Towels
For those that don’t know, our club is sponsored by Speedo. However, due to supply chain issues, it is challenging to get any Speedo equipment. FAST has a surplus of select women’s suits only. Sizes 26 and 28 only. Please contact us if you’re interested, they’re $40 per suit.

If we don’t have your size, we advise that you contact our vendor, The Deep End. They’re located in Webster. You can give them a call at (585) 272-1920. They will help size your swimmer(s) too.

We’ve extended the deadline for towels. We need a minimum of 48 to proceed with the order. You can order the towels like you would a swim meet, please specify the name and quantity in the notes box.

Swim Meet Officials
We cannot run meets without you. Parents/family members that become swim officials are exempt from our traditional volunteering model. FAST pays for your registration with USA Swimming, background check, and offers a minimum 50% discount on your membership dues.

The first step to becoming an official is attending a stroke and turn clinic via Zoom. If you’re interested, please contact Kathy Webb, Official’s Coordinator at [email protected] to get started.

Thank you for reading all the way through. We appreciate you all very much, and hope you have a great week!

Respectfully,
Nicholas, Coaching Staff, and the Board of Directors
