Turkey Splash Results
The Titans were able to attend the TWST Turkey Splash December 10th, rescheduled from our early winter storm in November. The Orchard Park High School still had piles of snow in their parking lot, but it was nice and warm in the pool. We had 22 Titans make the trip south piling up 39 best times, 5 new swims, 10 NI Championship cuts, 28 NI Championship Qualifier cuts, 3 fantastic relays, a few DQ’s to learn from, and some amazing efforts all day.
The 10 and under group had seven swimmers in the morning session, who all put in some super swims! Jacqueline Adams went 3 for 3 personal best swims, Vivienne Cabin added 3 Niagara Championship cuts to the total, Alexis Carter had 2 personal bests and a new event in the 100 Breast! Derek Hufnagel had 2 great efforts. Josie Lyons went 3 for 4 adding a Niagara Championship cut in her 50 free! Our super 6-year-old, Lucas Michalowski swam 2 amazing, best times! Finally, Agnes Pendley another 8 and under wonder, swam an amazing, best time in her 50 free by over 6 seconds!
The 11-12 age group had several swimmers put in amazing efforts all morning! Julia Cabin had 3 great swims all Gold times, Maximus Carter went 3 for 3 best times and Niagara Championship cuts! Gretchen Cenczyk also went 3 for 3 personal bests! Matthew Cwiklinski had 2 solid efforts right at his personal bests. Elizabeth Homish had a busy day with 4 individual events all right at or better than her bests! Megan Hufnagel went 3 for 4 personal best times! James Lyons added 2 more personal bests with a Niagara Championship cut! Tessa Michalowski finished the meet strong with her 2 best swims being her last two of the day! Elise Muffoletto added 2 best times and was tenths of seconds off personal best in another 2! Lucy Pendley added a new event to her list with a strong 100 Back! Lucia Santiago swam strong in all 4 of her events as well as 2 relays! First on deck, Penelope Vester, was ready to swim and added 2 more best times to our total with a new event the 50 back added to her list!
The open swimmers swam in the afternoon and did a great job! Lucas Castelo Barnum went 3 for 3 all best times! Nathan Reimann competed in races totaling 1000 yards on Saturday dropping almost 10 seconds in his 200 Back as the highlight! Finally, Gavin Tranter went 3 for 3 all best times adding 2 Championship Qualifier Cuts to the team total!
The meet was smaller as December tends to get busy, but we were proud of our Titans and happy to have made the trip to the southtowns!
