BlueFins Diving

Bluefins Diving in its current iteration is an off-season recreational club that seeks to accommodate divers of a broad range of ability levels aged 9 and over. Classes meet at the Webster Aquatic Center weekday evenings for 75 minutes apiece, and vary in number of occurrences per week with regard to ability level.

Bluefins Diving is committed to keeping learning groups small, and in so doing allows athletes to receive personalized instruction while maintaining a focus on diving fundamentals.

Whether it is a beginner comfortable in the water that wants to learn the sport, an intermediate diver that is seeking to learn some new dives in the offseason, or an advanced competitor that wants to keep sharp with the opportunity for more board time, Bluefins Diving can assist you.

The spring season beginning Monday March 1, 2021 will offer 12 available weeks over three months:
(Weeks of 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22, 4/5, 4/12, 4/19, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, and 5/24 )
Registration takes place and can be paid for directly on this website. Registrants must have proof of AAU Diving membership before participating in classes.

Ron Waterbury

Head Coach, Diving

Ron brings many years of coaching experience to Bluefins Diving. He started coaching during his student teaching at Victor Schools and presently finds himself with over twenty years of experience right here in Webster with both the Boys and Girls JV/Varsity school athletes.  Under his watchful eye, his divers have excelled in gaining top sectional as well as state honors; several have also pursued the sport successfully in college.

Ron was a NY State finalist and NAIA national qualifier while diving for Nazareth College, but is even more proud of his desire to remain a student of the sport these decades later. He loves reading about diving, breaking down video, and still will attend clinics and camps to further his knowledge. “I can honestly say that I love the sport now more than ever!”

Ron is a recently retired middle school science teacher who lives in Webster with his wife and visiting children, and loves to play the trumpet!
