At North Irvine Water Polo Club, we focus on developing strong fundamentals that athletes will carry through the different stages of the sport.  We provide a fun, disciplined environment, where kids (boys & girls) will learn the game of water polo, strategies, techniques, and mechanics.  Athletes will also learn the importance of, but not limited to:

*Working in a team environment
*Learning/applying positive sportsmanship
*Developing proper mechanics, and high water polo IQ
*Developing mental toughness

Our strongest point of emphasis is improvement.

Water polo age is determined by athletes age as of August 1st.  We accept athletes between the ages of 5-18.  Please note that this is not a learn to swim program and athletes trying out/evaluations should have a basic understanding and comfort level with swimming.

Our mission is to introduce (beginners) and prepare (intermediate to advanced) water polo players for competition while stressing fundamentals and positive sportsmanship.  We believe every athlete deserves the opportunity to excel, and that water polo can teach life lessons and be a stepping stone to accomplish their goals.

North Irvine Water Polo Club was founded by Steve Carrera & Ed Carrera in 2004 with the vision of helping kids in the Irvine community gain water polo experience prior to entering high school.  In the last 16 years North Irvine Water Polo Club has had great success at all levels.  We have sent many athletes to play at the high school, collegiate, and national level.  We continue to give high quality training and embody the idea that improvement is the cornerstone of our program.
