Current Events: College Commitments

Amanda San Juan

During these trying times it is our pleasure to share this great news with you. Two of our National group members have committed to swim for colleges that they will attend in the Fall of 2021. These two seniors are James Don and Brian Uribe.

James has decided to spend the next four years attending and swimming for the United States Military Academy or better known as West Point. As a U.S. Open qualifier he will be an asset to the team as a Distance Free and Breaststroke swimmer. Don will be helping West Point in fighting for the Patriot League title.

In addition, James wanted to share a few words with a team that he is forever grateful for which include: I’m very appreciative of my teammates because without them I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish my goals. My teammates are family to me. As for West Point, it is a true honor and amazing opportunity that I have continuously worked hard for. It is and will always be a great honor to serve my country.”

We are also proud to announce that Brian Uribe has decided to commit to Tufts University located in Massachusetts. Uribe is also a U.S. Open swimmer, he will join the roster of Tufts as a Backstroke and IM specialist to assist their team in the NESCAC conference.

Brian is ecstatic to share this news with a team that has been a huge part of his life. He had the following words to say: “I am so excited to continue both my academic and athletic careers at Tufts University! Thank you so much to my family, friends, and coaches at Scarlet BMS who have supported me along the way to make this possible.”

We are so proud of what these swimmers have accomplished and wish them well in their future endeavors.
