Dear Swimmers and Families,

I hope you all are doing well! I can’t deny that this weather is just my favorite- perfect for warm drinks and a good book.I am so happy to see that everyone is settling into the season well! We are looking to have some get-togethers soon to encourage team bonding.

I have posted new information regarding meets, please refer to the team site for more info.

Our Long Island entries have been sent. Per the meet information, the host team is giving priority to New York teams first, then all other teams.

I have attached the entries for the Devilfish Classic meet and Blue NT meet for your reference.

To do list:

- Please go onto our team site, hcyswim.com, and look over all meet information. Declare yes/no to any pertinent meets.

- Finish purchasing any outstanding equipment and/or team suits.

- PLEASE BRING WATERBOTTLES FOR YOUR SWIMMER.

- Stop by the front desk to update your scan tag if necessary.

IMPORTANT

DUE TO A THIRD-PARTY SCHEDULING CONFLICT, ALL PRACTICES THIS SATURDAY 10/6 AT RVCC WILL BE CANCELLED. I sincerely apologize for the late notice, as I only just learned of the conflict myself. Please enjoy your weekend, and get some rest.

THERE WILL BE NO OPTIONAL LITTLE STINGRAYS PRACTICE TOMORROW 10/4.

All senior swimmers attending morning practice: YOU ARE AWESOME.  WE ARE SO HAPPY AND PROUD OF YOU FOR ATTENDING EARLY PRACTICE! KEEP IT UP!  Also- please remember to dry off in the shower area to assist in keeping the floor safe for the other members that use the locker room early in the morning. Thank you!!

You will be receiving Job Sign-up emails for the upcoming meets. Job descriptions for each volunteer position can be found in our parent handbook. I have attached it here for your convenience. Thank you in advance for all of your assistance with our meets! We could not do it without you!

I have reached out to Metro regarding the color of the Aquablade suits. We are determining the differentiation between the two blue, and I will reach out with any updates.

AIR QUALITY AT DEER PATH- As most of you know, Coach Kristen and I have been strong advocates for improving the overall air quality for our swimmers during their time at practice. I have brought the issue to the attention to the pertinent people, and large-scale, necessary action will be taken to improve the long-term quality of our home pool. Currently, we have made a discovery that we are confident will improve the quality right away. We are working with the kids to ensure that the air vents around the pool stay clear so as to keep the circulation going. I have already seen improvement in these efforts, and I thank the kids for assisting us with this.

Parents Who are Interested at Working the Scoring Table:

During the Red White and Blue Meet (Time Trials) on Oct 21, we will be running the table just like we would our invitational meets and dual meets. If you are interested in seeing and learning about what we do please come join us. It will give all interested parties the opportunity to see what goes into running a meet and it also gives parents the added benefits of understanding the sport a little more (also you will get to see your swimmers’ times immediately and have the best view in the house of your swimmer swimming!) After the meet, we’ll discuss if this is a position you would like to be a part of and any additional training (A/O Certification, etc. ) that will go into the position.
