Riptide Ramblings Newsletter 10/22

  • Welcome & Welcome Back!  Welcome & welcome back to all of our Riptide swimmers and families to "Fall/Winter 2020-21 Part 2" (many of you participated in Part 1 at Brookside in September culminating with our Lollipop Meet weekend).  A very special welcome goes out to all of our new members who were formerly part of the Tsunami Swim Team!  We are looking forward to a different, yet exciting, season for our team, and we are dedicated to providing a great swim team experience and keeping everyone safe.  Make sure you check the web site regularly, ensure that your email and phone numbers are up to date on your accounts, download and regularly check the OnDeck app for our team, and  enable push notifications on your mobile devices, all so you are able to stay informed and up-to-date with all things Riptide each and every day.
  • Do you have a Riptide question and don't know who to ask?  Many questions about practices, meets and our team can be answered by reviewing the Parent Handbook posted on our web site under "Parents" & "Parent Handbook" (or click here).  Otherwise, if you have a specific question, simply send an email to "[email protected]" and it will be directed to the person that can answer it best.  You can also email any coach directly using their emails found on our coaches page.  Also, parent board member contact names and emails can be found here.  We are all here to help!
  • Team apparel (optional clothing) web site in online! Our new apparel website is ready to go. Check out our great new designs and place your orders here (by Oct 31st). Delivery will be 2 weeks after the closing date, around mid November.  Show off your RIPTIDE PRIDE now, as well as grab some for GREAT holiday gifts.  You can have the option to direct ship to your house or pick up in Highland Park. Happy shopping!  Contact Amanda at [email protected] with any questions.
  • Set yourself up to receive texts and mobile push notifications.   We are able to communicate with our members in many ways.  In most cases, email will be the most efficient way to send out information.  In some cases, however, there may be a need to get information to you quickly, due to schedule changes and/or cancelations, or for other reasons.  In order for you to receive these alerts, you need to set yourself up to receive texts and mobile push notifications.  To receive texts, you need to log in to your account, go to "My Account" on the sidebar menu and then the sub-menu "My Account" and make sure your mobile number is listed as shown below.  For push notifications, you need to download the "OnDeck" Team Unify app from your app store and allow your phone to accept push notifications from OnDeck.
  • Parents volunteers needed for swimmer entry at each practice!  We are still in need of parents every day (and every practice session) to help with swimmer check-in and entry to the pool.  Please look at the current open slots for temperature screenings here!  There are still a lot of sessions unfilled.  ANYTHING IN YELLOW over the next 2 weeks still needs to be filled.  Please consider helping.  If you have any questions, please email Danielle  at [email protected] THANK YOU!
  • Rule of the week: Please make every effort to arrive at practice at least fifteen minutes before your practice start time so that swimmers can be checked in, have their temperatures taken and be on deck and ready to go when practice is scheduled to begin.
  • Stroke Tip: Do you know what you can and cannot do during a breaststroke start?  Check it out here.
