Jason Petty Tyler ISD Aquatic Coordinator

Coach Petty grew up swimming for the 'Doches Dolphins in Nacogdoches, TX.  He competed for Ouchita Baptist University and was an All-American in the 200 freestyle.  Coach Petty earned a bachelor degree in Physcial Education from OBU and a masters degree in Kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin.  He begun his professional coaching career in 1995 in Hot Springs, AR and has coached in Kansas, Tennesssee, California, and New Mexico.  He moved to Tyler with his wife and two daughters in 2015 to take the positiion of Aquatic Coordinator.

Henry McDonald Gold/Masters Coach/Meet Announcer

Stan McDonald: Long time Atascadero High School swim coach on and off from 1983 to 2015. Also Coached Atascadero Swim Club and founding coach with North County Aquatics.  Also coached with Gator Aquatics, Kean College and Livingston Highschool.  14 time NCAA division III All-American and 1979 National Champion 100 Fly. Eight top five NCAA D-III championship finishes, and six school records set in 1979 and 1980. The last two records were broken in 2016. “I want people to love swimming and the water as much as I do.”  Moved to East Texas February 2016 chasing grandchildren.

Loyd Adams Head Senior Coach

Loyd Edward “Eddie” Adams has spent most of his life in or around a pool. He attended Midland Junior College along with Lamar University. Eddie achieved the honor of being an All-American in the 200 freestyle, 400 Individual Medley, and the 200 Butterfly. After completing college with a bachelor’s degree, he knew he wanted to stay in the sport of swimming. He has two daughters, Ashley Adams and Cammile Adams, who he helped coach throughout their lives. Both daughters qualified for Olympic Trials. In 2012 & 2016, his daughter Cammile was able to make the Olympic team and represent Team USA. He has worked all around the state of Texas over 44 years, Coaching, mentoring others and spending Time on Gulf Swimming Board. In his free time, he runs his Grandparents chicken farm and spends time with his new granddaughter Harper. I am excited to be in Tyler and help TRAC to reach new goals with a Great Coaching Staff already in place.

Payton Jones Silver Coach

Coach Payton started swimming at age 10 for the Arkansas Dolphins in Cabot, Arkansas. Coach Payton swam for Cabot High School where he held the record in the 200 IM, 100 back, 100 Fly, and 500 Free. Payton competed for Henderson State University on athletic scholarship from 2016-2020. While at Henderson, he competed in the 100 back, 200 back, 400 IM, 200 IM, and 500 Free. He was a conference finalist and was awarded ADA academic achievement award all four years. Payton Graduated with an Associates in Health Sciences and a Bachelors in Health and Human Performance, and he continued his education at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences to earn his third degree in Nuclear Medicine Imaging Sciences. "I love working with the next generation of swimmers and watching them grow throughout the years, and my goal is to give them more opportunities than I had so they can be successful in and out of the water

Lauren Hawkins Bronze Coach

Coach Lauren grew up swimming, starting at age 7, in Spring, TX for her neighborhood summer league team as well as local swim club.  She earned a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University and a Masters degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University. Coach Lauren completed for Texas A&M University on the Women’s Water Polo Team. 

She began her coaching career in 2004 in Spring, TX and has coached in a variety of settings including summer league, club, and high school teams.
