This summer, ten young athletes traveled to Windsor, Canada to represent the United States in the 2019 UANA Pan American Artistic Swimming Championships. Of the ten athletes named to the team, three of them were Buffalo Swimkins: Mia Canna, Caitlin McNamara and Jamie Starck. The Swimkins’ combo routine, swimming to the music of “West Side Story,” won the gold medal for the fourth year in a row at the 2019 Junior Olympics for Synchronized Swimming, hosted in Tonawanda last week. Over 2000 swimmers from all over the US attended various competitions in their respective age groups throughout the week. Isabelle Lange and Ashley Latchford struck gold at the US Opens in Greensboro, North Carolina this past weekend. The girls competed in the Junior Technical Duet and Junior Free Duet events, earning the top score and the gold medal in both events. Ashley and Isabelle also competed individually in the Junior Technical and Free Solo events. Once again, Swimkins had a strong showing at this year’s U.S. 13-15 Age Group and Junior National Championships, which were held in Riverside, California April 10-14.
