12 & Under National Team Takes Bronze

Julia Grizanti

This summer, ten young athletes traveled to Windsor, Canada to represent the United States in the 2019 UANA Pan American Artistic Swimming Championships. Of the ten athletes named to the team, three of them were Buffalo Swimkins: Mia Canna, Caitlin McNamara and Jamie Starck. They trained in Las Vegas over the summer with head coach Ludi Perrin and former Olympian Leah Pinette. Their energetic routine, swam to a mix of Aretha Franklin’s hits, earned them the bronze medal.

Canna, McNamara and Starck trained hard all season and went through four phases of trials to earn their spot on the 2019 12 & Under National Team. After 6 weeks, they came home with lifelong memories. All of their coaches are so proud to have watched them so gracefully represent their country as well as Swimkins. We believe they will continue to accomplish great things.
