The Stone Ridge Sharks Swim Team offers training and practice for swimmers age 18 and under at differing ability levels. It is the goal of the Sharks to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

To ensure safety, new swimmers must:

  • Get in/out of the pool independently
  • Swimmers age 8 & under must swim 25 meters and swimmers age 9 & older must swim 50 meters of a recognizable competitive stroke. Swimmers must be unassisted and cannot stop or touch the bottom of the pool or lane lanes.
  • Tread water for 30 seconds, without touching the bottom of the pool
  • NO EXCEPTIONS

The Sharks are a member of the Old Dominion Swim League (ODSL). As a participating team in the ODSL, we will conduct our swim meets in accordance with the league rules.

The following Age Groups exist for both Boys and Girls when swimming in league meets:  6 & Under, 8 & Under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18.

We also offer a kickboarders program designed for ages 4-8 that are comfortable in the water but not able to swim one lap of the pool and tread water unassisted.
