What is a JO cut?

J.O. is short Junior Olympics.  Also referred to as "State Time".   If a meet states "Faster than JO", that means you must have met the state time in any particular event prior to entering that event in the meet.
"Slower than J.O." means if you have met your state time in any particular event, you cannot swim that event at that meet.  If you have not met your state time, you can swim any event.
