GCSTO Swimmers Continue To Swim Fast Through USA Swimming Sectionals

GCSTO swimmers Mackenzie Carter, Kasey Lichtner, Nate Gaver, Max Hutson Comeaux, Eli Stoll and Hayden Yeager all represented us at the USAS Sectional Meet held March 25-28 at IUPUI in Indianapolis.

Due to the pandemic and limited meets throughout the country this proved to be a super competitive meet. This was a Sectionals meet that featured multiple Olympic medalists and world ranked swimmers (Lily King, Kelsi Dahlia, Cody Miller, Blake Peironi, Zach Apple and more). With the top 3-5 in each event earning Olympic Trials cuts and the winner in several events posting, literally, top current times in the world, our GCSTO swimmers still posted 11 Top-20 finishes at the meet. Our six athletes competed in 28 events and earned a combined 18 lifetime best times. Many of the other LTB's missed were typically only off by fractions of a second.Overall, we had a strong meet with our athlete doing a great of job staying focused and racing hard.

The team ended the meet strong in the last two events with Eli setting a 17-18 team record in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.27 and Nate setting a 17-18 team record in the 100 Free with a time of 52.95. That pushes the total team records this season over 40!!!!

Congratulations to ALL of our swimmers for making this meet and for a fantastic season despite pandemic conditions!!!!!
