Volunteers

The MCY Marlin Swim Team is a great organization. We have strong support from the Miami County YMCA staff and we have two wonderful facilities.

Any successful team is made up of a three-way partnership - the coaches, the athletes and the parents. Our coaching staff is stable and enthusiastic about developing our athletes and instilling a love of competitive swimming. Our kids spend hundreds of hours training and competing. Our MCY parents provide a crucial third in the success of our team. Parent volunteers are involved in all aspects of running the team - from timing and officiating at meets, to organizing social events, to planning fundraising events.

We expect all parents to help volunteer throughout the swim season, part of having a swimmer on the team is a commitment by the parents to help run our program. The commitment begins with staffing our home meets, but also includes other meets and jobs throughout the season to help keep the program running.  We would appreciate it if you consider finding a place to help the team and your swimmer.

Please consider getting involved by talking with a member of the MPAC (Marlins Parent Advisory Committee) about specific roles you are interested in, they meet each month throughout the season going back and forth each month between Robinson and Piqua each month.
