I’ve been in the sport of swimming since I was age 6. I grew up near Arcadia, OK and that’s where I began my career. I attended Jenks High School my freshman and senior years. Between those years I swam in Austin, TX at Circle C Aquatics with Josh Davis.

I was blessed enough to qualify for Olympic Trials my Junior year which lead me to accept a full scholarship to Indiana University. I swam all 4 years at IU and was an NCAA All American.
After Indiana I moved to Huntington Beach, California where my coach career began on the close watch of Former Olympic and National team Head Coach Mark Schubert. It was here I competed in my 2nd Olympic Trials and coached Jr College, Age Group and Senior National level athletes.

I am extremely excited to be joining the American Energy Family and I hope to grow in my skills as a coach while helping your athletes achieve the utmost success in and out of the pool. I firmly believe in investing in the person not simply the athlete.

One day swimming will end and real life will begin it is our job as coaches to teach our young people how to conduct themselves in order to reach their full potential.

Alli Denison Assistant Coach

I was ten years old when I decided to take a leap of faith and enter into the swimming world and haven't looked back since. Something that I initially thought would be a fun hobby turned into a lifestyle, and I am blessed to have the opportunity to share my passion through the club that constructed it. Throughout my years of swimming, I’ve been blessed to have several amazing coaches who have helped me gain confidence not only in swimming but life outside the pool and that, more than anything, is the impact I too hope to have. I am so very blessed to be a part of the AESC family and look forward to everything this journey entails. See you at the pool!

Susanne Smith Assistant Coach

I began teaching swim lessons to children and adults in the summer of 1999 at Swim Atlanta.  We moved to Macon, Ga in 2008 where both of my girls started swimming at Swim Macon.  Soon after I began assisting with the Age Groups and became the primary Coach for the Gold age group.  In 2013- 2015 I was also the Head Coach for the Stratford Academy Varsity swim team in Macon, Ga.  In August of 2015 we moved to Gainesville, FL where I took a break from coaching for three years and worked in student housing for the University of Florida.  We moved to Edmond in August of 2018 and in March of 2019 we discovered AESC and I realized how much I missed coaching and being at the pool every day.  I enjoy working with children of all ages and helping them reach their goals both mentally and physically.  I look forward to what the future holds with this team and feel very fortunate to be a part of it.

Brian Selph Assistant Senior Coach

I am entering my 10th year of coaching and my  6th year with American Energy Swim Club. I began my swimming career at the age of 10 in Baumholder, Germany where I competed for a local club team on the army base. I spent the next several years moving around with my family and swimming for different local swim teams. I swam my freshman year of college at Indian River Community College where I competed with the NJCAA national championship team.  From there, I moved to Georgia Southern and competed at the Division 1 level to finish my swimming career.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Institutional Management and worked with Marriott out of college as a chef.  During this time I have moved to five different states and also have three children.

We moved to Oklahoma in 2012 where my oldest daughter took an interest in swimming and began swimming with Chesapeake Swim Club. I began coaching with American Energy Swim Club in 2014.

Grace Hill Assistant Coach

My name is Grace Hill, but everyone calls me Gracie! I’ve been a swimmer for about 13 years now! I started coaching 2 years ago, and it led me to American Energy. I’m currently a college student and athlete and I get to coach as well which is pretty cool! I love coching my little ones and beginners. Being able to teach them about the sport is a blessing!

Teri Miranda Assistant Coach

I am originally from McAlester, OK. I moved to Edmond in 2002 where I attended UCO majoring in Human Services with an emphasis in Substance Abuse Studies. I lifeguarded for the Red Cross for 15 years and taught swimming lessons as a certified water safety instructor for 14 years. I have been married to my husband, Justin, for 10 years. Our son, Jax, has been a swimmer with AESC since October of 2018. I am excited to be apart of this team as not only a parent but as well as an assistant coach of the pre-comp team.

Kenadie DeYoung Assistant Coach

I am an AESC alum! I swam for 10 years, and when it came time for college I decided swimming was not a part of my path. I never wanted to give it up and it is the sport I crave and obsess over. I attend Oklahoma State University and was overjoyed when I was asked to coach the team I love and helped make me the swimmer I was. I am so happy that I get the honor to continue to be apart of this team, just on the coaching side of things!

Brodie Morris Stillwater Site Coach

I began swimming at the age of 11, when after quitting basketball and baseball my parents wanted to put me in another sport. So I began swimming for the local YMCA team in Shawnee, Oklahoma. After swimming that program, and two different USA teams throughout high school along with swimming for the Shawnee wolves I attended Barton community college. I competed in their swimming program placing in all B finals of every event I was entered in at NJCAA nationals. After graduating with an associates from Barton, I enrolled at OSU and am now coaching AESC’s training group in Stillwater and I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity to help coach some of the best swimmers in the state!
