Swimmers advance based largely on skill level rather than age. Most advancements happen in August, although advancing swimmers is left entirely to the discretion of the coaching staff.
All families are required to work a minimum of 10 hours per year. The period of time runs from September 1 of the current year through August 31 of the new year. The time volunteered is tracked during the year and it is the responsibility of the families to make sure all time spent volunteering is submitted to the coordinator for tracking. At the end of August all unworked hours are billed to the family at a rate of $15 per hour left unworked.
Note: Summer only (typically High School Swimmers) swim families are required to volunteer a minimum of 5 hours. Volunteer hours may be reduced for various reasons subject to Board approval.
Common ways to fulfill your volunteer committment are through committee work, volunteering to help with swim meets, officiating, and otherwise pitching in to help the team get things done.
Links to the club handbook and online registration can be found below. Please take the time to throughly read the handbook, making sure you fully understand all that is required of membership.
The online registration process collects information for team registration, USA Swimming registration, and OU release. Information collected includes billing information, swimmer information, guardian information, medical release, photo release, and code of conduct acknowledgement. A valid email address is required per family account to complete the registration process. NO EXCEPTIONS! The team does all of its communication through email such as practice/meet notification and billing. Swimmers and guardians must go over the code of conduct and sign off indicating that they understand the rules.
USA Swimming membership fee scholarships are available to help reduce the cost of the annual membership fee. The scholarship applies to the current year only and must be resubmitted each year to continue receiving it. If interested, please contact the coaching staff to determine if you qualify.
