MSSAC 2021-2022 COACHING STAFF

Aristeidis Bousoulegkas has been a Head Coach and Technical Manager
in major private clubs in his hometown Thessaloniki, Greece. With
over 12 years of experience in creating and coordinating plans for
the development of elite athletes, Aristeidis is a true asset to
MSSAC. His leadership abilities, connection with his
athletes, skills and passion for coaching have awarded him with
many victories at the National Championships with his biggest
accomplishment, his athlete Diogenis Tsitouridis placing
16th worldwide in the 1500m (personal record: 15.20.92)
according to2004 Fina World Ranking from January to May 26,2005.
Aris received a degree in Physical and Sports Education with a
specialization in swimming from the Aristotle University of
Thessaloniki.

Nandi is the Assistant Head Coach and is directly responsible for
coaching the Junior National Group. Nandi has been coaching
for over 30 years and more recently was the Head Coach of Region of
Waterloo (ROW) Swim Club/Wilfrid Laurier University Varsity Team
and was also the Head Coach for Cascade Swim Club. He has coached
his swimmers to success at every level. Nandi has been on
staff for Ontario and Alberta Provincial Tour Teams and the 2005
Canada Games Team. Nandi was part of the National Team Staff on two
World Cup meets, the 2002 Pan Pacific Championships and the 2003
World Aquatic Championships. Nandi’s athlete’s
have broken 15 Provincial, 5 National Age Group and 4 National
Records. Along the way his swimmers have won over 130
Provincial medals, 16 Senior National medals (including 4 Gold) and
won Bronze medals at both the Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacific
Championships. Four of Nandi’s previous swimmers have
gone on the represent Canada at the Olympic Games: He played a part
in developing Stephanie Richardson (Atlanta ‘96) and Joel
Greenshields (Beijing), and led both Mike Brown (Athens, Beijing)
and Jillian Tyler (Beijing/London) to the International stage
before they made the big show in their University years. Nandi
has been awarded OSCA's Coach of the Year Award in 2001 and 2002.
In 2005 Nandi was awarded both the ACC National and Junior Coach of
the Year awards in Alberta. Nandi has been a speaker at the
2004 and 2005 Alberta Coaches Conference and the 2007 National
Coaches Conference.

Wendy has been a certified swim coach for over 25 years, starting
with the GO Kingfish in Ottawa. She has more recently done Adult
Swim Improvement at the YMCA and since 2011 she has been the head
coach for the HMNCS for both the senior and middle school swim
teams. Wendy has been a swim parent since 2004 with children
progressing from Wave to High Performance. Personal swim experience
includes swimming for the University of Ottawa and then swimming
Masters. Wendy has a passion for swimming both on the deck and in
the water.

Andrea has been coaching with the Mississauga Aquatic Club since
2003. Andrea has over 25 years of swimming experience as
swimmer and coach. As a swimmer for 15 years Andrea has
memories of competing for his home county of Italy and the pride
that goes along with that. He brings the passion of his own
memories to his coaching. Andrea is now dedicated to
coaching and education. He obtained an Honours degree in
Physical Education in Florence, Italy, and an Honours degree in
Kinesiology at York University in Toronto. As an age group
coach and Head Coach, he has developed national swimmers in Italy
and Canada. Andrea believes that young children are always looking
for new learning experiences, new challenges and new goals to
achieve. Swimming provides them with the opportunity to learn
new skills and build necessary confidence to face and overcome any
challenge, and enjoy success. He believes that swimming
provides opportunities to make new friends, develop healthy habits,
become independent, earn a good education, and travel.

I was mentored by Olympic athlete and Coach Andy Knowles. My credentials are Level 3 ASCA (American Swim Coaches Association). I have been coaching since the early 2000’s and I am also a Certified Yoga Instructor since 2012. I’m happy to be passing on my experience to the swimmers of MSSAC!

Alexey Saulin has been in leadership positions all his life. Alexey is very passionate about the sport of swimming, having swum competitively since he was a child and is still active as an adult, swimming with the Mississauga Masters. Having spent his whole life with the sport, Alexey now wants to share his passion and his experience with the new generation of MSSAC swimmers.

Beth is an accomplished athlete. She was a member of the Canadian National Triathlon Team and has been an avid and successful racer over her career. She comes to us from the Burlington Aquatic Club and has also coached in many technical academies helping athletes hone their skill. Beth brings a sound technical background and has coached at various levels and in various sport disciplines.

Sandra has been with the club for 12 years, both as a swimmer and a coach, and is currently a student at UofT. She is very committed to the program and her swimmers and is very excited to increase her swimmers’ skills.

Nazar has been a swimmer in MSSAC and is now coaching in the program. He has been with MSSAC for a few years now and will be coaching two groups. We look forward to Nazar’s continued commitment to the club and his swimmers.

Alexandra has swam in the high-performance squad here at MSSAC before starting university at UTM. Alex has the experience of swimming in our program under coaches Kevin and Nandi and has very good teaching experience with a local swim school. We always look forward to having our alumni coaching in the program!

Drayton has been coaching for over 20 years in a variety of
sports. He has coached adults, children and teens in the
sport of Canoe/Kayak, Dragonboat and now, swimming. He has
been with MSSAC for 3 seasons. Drayton has his Competition
Development coaching qualifications in the sport of Canoe/Kayak and
is fully certified as a level 1 coach in swimming. He has
sent athletes to multiple National Championships, the Jr. World
Championships, and The Canada Games, and has attended 2 Canada
Games as a coach. Drayton also has a degree in Kinesiology
from McMaster University and Bachelor of Education from UofT.
He currently works with the Peel Board of Education when he is not
at the pool. Drayton continues to strive to help every
athlete reach their potential.

I have been swimming with MSSAC for quite sometime, over 7 years. Now that I have moved into coaching I am excited to work with the Cawthra White swimmers!
