From our Head Coach Andrew Nguyen:

Hello BCST Swimmers and Families,

We are heading into a very important and exciting time of our season with so many meets on the horizon. The swimmers have been working very hard and the coaching staff is excited for what’s to come over the next month and a half of competition.

With that said, we all need to continue being diligent about preventing the spread of Covid to ensure we can continue with these opportunities for our team. We have done an exceptional job of making sure we are masking up at practices and meets. I believe our team is getting into the groove and we will always continue to improve things.

With the rise of Covid cases and out of an abundance of caution, we will require the following for our team.

Very much like meets, we will require swimmers to wear masks up until you get in the water for each practice. The lifeguard desk has extra Ziplock bags for your masks. Please ask them for one when you get to practice. Please feel free to bring your own plastic Tupperware or own Ziplock bags as well. Your mask will be ready for you at the end of the lane as soon as you are out of the water after practice and/or when you need to run to the bathroom during practices.

In addition, I would like to remind everyone that masks are still required in the locker rooms and bathrooms. We have many groups who need to change to and from dryland and that is why we allow locker room use. Please keep your masks on while you change since it is difficult to socially distance yourselves in there. We need to be better.

For dryland, we will now have swimmers wear masks during workouts. We are hopeful this additional measure will act as extra protection to ensure we are able to successfully continue team operations.

Another reminder that if you are feeling sick, regardless of showing Covid symptoms or not, please do not come to practice and meets. Now is not the time to take chances and see how you feel when you get to the pool. Please be mindful of how you are feeling and please stay home if you are not feeling well.

We are doing a wonderful job of protecting our team. If we continue to be diligent and careful, we will be in a great position to continue offering opportunities for our swimmers and our entire team. Please let me know if you have any questions.

GO BCST!

Andrew
