1963: The Blue Dolphin Swim Team is formed as a non-profit organization. The Blue Dolphins were a summer league program that swam at the Dallas Community Outdoor Pool that was located at the Dallas City Park. The motto of the team was "swim for fun, swim for life" at this time.

2002: BDST established their home at the indoor aquatic complex known as the Dallas Aquatic Center.

2012-2020: Mark Maxwell was hired to bring about a change of direction to the program. The Board of Directors under the vision & leadership of Mark Maxwell adopted the clubs mission & vision statement.

The team becomes a Level 1 club through the CRP (Club Recognition Program), a Safe Sport Recognized (certified) Club. BDST becomes the most competitive in the club's history by producing many state, regional, zone, and sectional champions who have gone on to collegiate swimming programs across the state during this time frame. BDST begins hosting their own USA sanctioned meets at the Dallas Aquatic Center & start attracting local teams across Oregon into the Dallas community for competition. Under the direction of Coach Maxwell, respect for our team and program has been gained & noticed by the USA swimming & Oregon swimming community.

2020-2021: In October 2020, Jesse Genualdi is voted in by the Board of Directors as Interim Head Coach to succeed Mark Maxwell due to retirement. On November 20th, BDST is without pool time due to state wide COVID-19 pandemic lockdown being deamed in an "Extreme Risk" category for Polk County. In March, Polk County lowers into a "high risk" category allowing for the pool to open after BDST had been out of the water for six months. June 22nd vaccination rates reach 65% in Polk County for COVID-19 allowing the DAC to resume normal operations.

The Blue Dolphins achieve Level 2 CRP (Club Recognition Status) through USA Swimming in Feburary & are certified as a Safe Sport Recongized Club through June 2022. The Board of Directors adopts new marketing strategies which include the integration of Team Unify as the main website & organizational tool for the club. Team Unify website launches April 1st with a new look.
