The Sweet Home Swim Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers up to age 18. It is our goal to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Swimmers are grouped by both age and ability. The minimum requirements for each group listed below are designated to ensure the ultimate success of each athlete. In addition to these requirements, the coaches will determine if the maturity level of the swimmer is compatible with the demands of the training group.
Bronze Group This is our entry level group. Bronze Criteria: Ability to swim 25 yards freestyle with side breathing Ability to swim 25 yards backstroke Comfortable in the water. Bronze Group Coach: Jessica Coats Workout days/times: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 4-5pm (During High School Season, Mid-November through Mid-February 5-6pm)
Silver Group From the Bronze group, athletes move into this group. Athletes in this group focus mainly on learning four legal competitive strokes, having fun, and perfecting start and turn technique. Competing at swim meets is encouraged. Swimmers who do sign up for meets are required to come to practice at least 70% of the time. Swimmers will begin preparing for the 100/200 IM and the 200 FR. Silver Criteria: 4 strokes that are close to legal 8 years of age or older Readiness to begin training Attend swim meets Silver Group Coach: Kelly Sautel Monday-Friday: 5:00-6:00pm Dryland: Incorporated in the swim practices as needed.
Gold Group From the Silver group, athletes move into this group. Athletes in this group are usually at least 10 years old and have completed the Silver Group move-up skills list. Athletes in this group must display a desire to begin training on a more committed basis. Swimmers train to swim a 200 IM and 500 FR. Competing at swim meets is expected. Gold Criteria: Legal Strokes and turns Legal 100 IM Participation in meets Emotional maturity 11 years of age or older 10 year olds may advance to this level with a coaches recommendation Gold Group Coach: Kelly Sautel Workout Days/Times: Dryland: Incorporated in the swim practices as needed. Saturday: 7-9:00 am optional/coaches invite
Platinum Group Minimum age for entry into this group is 14 years old. Athletes entering this group must display a desire perform at the highest possible level, along with achieving A time standards. Training will be focused on aerobic endurance, speed, and good stroke, start, and turn techniques. Athletes in Platinum are directed towards making their Age Group Sectional Time Standards. Platinum Group Coach: Kelly Sautel Monday-Friday: 5-7pm Tues/Thurs: 6:00-7:15am Sat: 7-9 am Dryland: Incorporated in the swim practices as needed. |
