Special Olympics Preview - This Sat Apr 13

We spoke to Sue Knight who coordinates this event for the Special Olympics athletes, they are so appreciative that our team is again involved!  If you would like to be involved & have not signed up, please see the meet page at so we can help estimate numbers.

A couple items she mentioned:

- She is looking for one or two lifeguards if available.

- Please plan to report for volunteering at 10:30a, meet start 11:30a & estimated end 3p.

Location:  Princeton High School.  100 Viking Way, 45246.

Season Preview (Repeat item from last week)

The first day of practice for all groups (except National) will begin next Monday, April 8!  From April thru mid-July, the team competes in what is referred to as Long Course season.  What is the difference between Short & Long Course, you ask?  Long Course competitions are conducted in 50-meter pools as opposed to 25-yard pools like over the winter.

A few season preview items:
- Upcoming Events:
*Sat, April 13 Special Olympics @ Princeton HS.  Kids will be asked to volunteer & help escort Special Olympic athletes.
*May 10-12 First meet of the season @ Clippers Arctic Splash (Erlanger KY)
*May 17-19, First Home meet of the season (Pepsi Spring Invite)
*May 31-June 2, Travel Meet to Fishers In to compete in the Southeastern Summer Sizzler.
*Mon June 24, (National/Blue) Annual Canoe Trip & (Red) Potential Kings Island outing.
*Wed June 26, Open Water Meet @ Hueston Woods.

- Summer Clubs:  Swimmers are welcome to swim with the Marlins & their summer clubs once school lets out.  Kids can benefit both from the continuity of Long Course training and the fun opportunity with a summer club!

- Current members DO NOT need to re-register for Long Course (Apr thru mid-July), the dues you currently pay includes all Long Course practice & meet fees.

- All Long Course team information is linked HERE.  Appointments for new families are available on request, click Contact Us at bottom of the website front page to send us an email!

As always, this team can't function without YOU.  Please consider signing up to help as an official or skilled volunteer in organizing our home swim meets.

Plus, always refer to this weekly newsletter for upcoming deadlines, fun team updates, and any potential practice changes.

Practice Changes

Any & all practice changes will be communicated by this newsletter & your lead site coach.  Also a great resource are updated Google Calendars (by location) under the "Practice/Location Calendars" menu on the website, including an FAQ on how to use the electronic calendars.
