The Columbia River Swim Team  offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Columbia River Swim Team is to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Pre-comp Group

This is our entry level group. An athlete needs to have swim lessons prior to this group
Pre-comp Group Coach: Anaya Martella
Workout Days/Times: T-Th @ 5:30-7 pm

Bronze Group

From the Pre-comp group, athletes move into this group. Athletes in this group focus mainly on learning four legal competitive strokes, having fun, and perfecting start and turn technique.

Workout Days/Times: M-W-F @ 5:30-7pm

Silver Group

From the Bronze group, athletes move into this group. Athletes in this group are usually at least 10 years old and have completed the Silver Group move-up skills list. This group is exposed to training for the first time while trying to prepare for the 200 Freestyle and 200 Individual Medley races. Competing at swim meets is highly encouraged at a rate of about once per month.

Workout Days/Times: M-f @ 5:30-7:15 pm

Gold Group

Minimum age for entry into this group is 10 years old. Athletes entering this group must display a desire to begin training on a more committed basis. Competition at swim meets is expected in this group. Training takes precedence for the first time in their development. Athletes in this group train for the 200 Individual Medley and 500 Freestyles.

Pre-Senior Group

Minimum age for entry into this group is 11 (girls) or 12 (boys). Athletes entering the Pre- Senior group must display a strong desire to perform at the highest level they are capable of. Training is geared towards individual talents, although a strong aerobic endurance factor is present. Athletes in the Senior group are directed towards making their NW Sectional Time Standards. Minimum training sets include:

4x200IM @3:00

Dryland: Mondays and Thursday @ 6:45 pm

Sat: 8-10 am (non meet wk ends)

Early Am: 5:30-6:30 M-W

Senior Group

Minimum criteria for entry is (1) Sectional time standard and a desire to be competitive on a Senior and National level. This group focuses on qualifying For JR. National and US open cuts.  Minimum training sets for entry include:

15x100 @ 1:15
4X200IM @ 2:45

Dryland on Mondays and Thursdays at 5:45 pm

5:30-6:30am  (m-w)

Non Meet weekend saturday practice from 8-10 am
