Unfortunately, as an effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, our team must reschedule the 2020 race. A hard decision, but the only right one. This is very sad news for all the athletes that have been training for such a long time as well as the many volunteers that have worked throughout the year to produce this event, but we are confident that we will produce an even stronger event for August.

As of now, all registrations have been carried over to the new race date.  If you wish instead to receive a refund or donate your race fee you may contact Race Director Amy Nelson. Please know that we will do our very best to get clarity for you as soon as possible. This is a fluid situation, so we have to follow the authorities and situation on the ground as it unfolds. Thank you very much for your understanding. Fingers crossed, and stay safe!

The North Lake Physical Therapy Gator Grinder Triathlon is an excellent introduction for the first-time triathlete, as well as a great early season event for the experienced racer.  The swim will be in a pool, the bike course is over beautiful rural roads and the run is flat and fast.  There will be road bike, mountain bike and relay divisions.  All proceeds support the Canby Swim Club.

500-yard (20 lengths, 10 laps) pool swim in a 6-lane, 25-yard pool, with up to 4 swimmers per lane.  There will be volunteer lap counters.  Drafting is permitted.  The swim will be seeded by the 500-yard swim time participants submit with the entry form.  Heat assignments will be e-mailed by the Monday prior to the race.  The first heat will be in the water at 7:30 a.m.  Check in at least one hour before your start.

Bike The one-loop 12-mile bike course is over the beautiful rolling country roads that surround Canby. A bike helmet is mandatory.  Drafting is not legal.  Volunteers will manage traffic at intersections, but roads will be open to traffic and cyclists will be responsible for their own safety.

The 3.1-mile run is mostly on roadways with about one-third on a paved walking trail.  The course is flat and fast.  Water will be available on the course.

The 2020 Gator Grinder Triathlon has 240 spots available. Due to the size of the facilities this is a hard limit. The race typically sells out, but we also normally go deep in to the wait list.   So if you want in please don’t delay, but if you do end up on the wait list, don't despair... there's a good chance you'll still get in! We do have a cancellation/waitlist policy, please read it carefully.

Online registration only. All race communication is done via e-mail.  Once registered, you will receive an informational email in mid March, a Confirmation letter in mid April, and your start time, heat & lane assignment the Monday before the race.   If you do not receive these emails, please check your junk or spam folders. NOTE: Please make certain that you receive a confirmation e-mail.
Cancellations by March 31, 2020 will be given a full refund less $10, assuming there is someone on the waitlist to take your place. No refunds will be given after March 31 or if your spot cannot be filled. After the race fills, we will maintain a waitlist. Entries are non-transferrable. Athletes will be selected from the waitlist on a first come, first serve basis.  PLEASE NOTE: T-Shirt orders must be received before March 31.
