Edwardsville YMCA Volunteer Procedures and Requirements

Edwardsville YMCA Breakers Volunteers

Thank you for considering the YMCA as a place to donate your time and talents. Whether you are a volunteer for the Edwardsville YMCA Breakers swim team, a coach for a YMCA sports league team, a Preschool Co-op volunteer, help with special events, or volunteer in another capacity, volunteers are vital to the YMCA. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to meet the needs of the kids, families, and adults who live in Edwardsville.

The YMCA makes an active effort to prevent abuse and is in compliance with the Safe Sport Act. So even though we may know you well, we reserve the right to conduct background and reference checks, and require trainings on Child Abuse Prevention and reporting for volunteers. It’s just one of the many ways we help protect children and other vulnerable people served by the YMCA.

All Edwardsville YMCA Breakers families must designate a minimum of 1 parent (guardian) volunteer to complete the following volunteer requirements per swimmer family.  This must be completed prior to registering your child(ren) for their first swim meet of the 2018/19 season.

All trainings and requirements must be successfully completed before volunteers can start volunteering.

The following provides the procedures and requirements for Edwardsville YMCA Volunteers.
