Blue Group

This competitive group is composed of highly motivated swimmers aged 11-14. These swimmers are focused on achieving YMCA Midwest Zone time standards with the long-term goals of either being elite senior level swimmers or competitive high school swimmers.

Swimmers in this group should have a firm grasp of stroke technique and be prepared to focus on intense endurance and race pace training. Swimmers will learn advanced IM transitions and look to set themselves apart in areas such as underwaters and starts. This group will have multiple time cycles to challenge all swimmers.

Dryland in this group will focus on the expansion of strengthening the core through circuit training, as well as introducing light weight exercises with extreme focus on form and technique to ensure safety.

This group will have an emphasis on setting goal times and the process in which to achieve them. Swimmers in this group are expected to set a lead by example for the younger swimmers on the team.

This group will be run by the Head Age Group Coach and will typically have 1-2 coaches on deck.
