Red Group

This competitive group works with an emphasis in stroke refinement and introductory endurance training.  Swimmers should be looking to achieve SWOYSL AA time standards in this group.

The typical age range is 10-13 but swimmers of any age not meeting the criteria for Blue Group may be placed in this group.

This group will focus on increased endurance training for all the competitive strokes.  Time cycles will be reinforced, and practice will be run on time cycles.  Starts and turns as well as underwater kicking and IM transitions will be refined and expanded on.  This group will introduce multiple time cycles during practice to challenge all levels of swimmers present in the group.

Dryland exercises will increase in intensity but will remain focused on body weight exercises and stretching.

This group will also introduce swimmers to goal times and elaborate on how to reach those goals. 2-3 coaches will work with this group depending on the availability of coaches.
