The Scholastic All America Program through USA swimming searches to find the athletes who are the most well rounded and have found the balance of excellence both in the pool and in the classroom. This year FAST had two members recognized in this elite program; Sophia Burwitz and Carter Nelson.

To be considered for this honor athletes must have completed one year of high school and have maintained a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the current academic year while having achieved a time standard of at least USA Swimming Winter Junior National time standards. This is such an incredible feat because athletes that compete at that high level of competition are in the water up to 17 hours per week in addition to managing their rigorous workload at school. This is keeping in line with FAST’s mission  To be a nationally-recognized program emphasizing good sportsmanship, family participation, team unity and individual excellence.

Congratulations Sophia and Carter, keep up the great work!

Please congratulate these athletes and their families when you see them next!
