RCA took our strongest team yet to the recent Ozark LC Championship meet in Edwardsville, IL on the weekend of July 25-28, 2019.  The team was simply fantastic in and out of the water and the swimmers put on a performance to remember as we concluded the 2018-19 year-round season with our best team effort of the year!

RCA compiled 2,276.5 points to finish 5th in the combined team standings.  The point total was our highest number in team history and nearly 800 points more than we scored last year at the meet.  The team stats were very impressive as RCA swimmers posted 71% best times (meet high for all teams) and earned 30 event wins (meet high for all teams).

The post-meet awards presentation had a strong RCA presence as the team was presented the Team Sportsmanship award as voted on by the other teams. It was simply impossible not to notice how supportive the RCA swimmers were of each other all weekend.  The cheering and overall enthusiasm was electric and peaked on Saturday night at finals when it seemed like RCA swimmers were everywhere and cheering for everyone (including swimmers from other teams).

Nate Thomas was voted the male recipient of the Penny Taylor Memorial Award in recognition of his outstanding performances throughout the weekend.

Jacob Bening (15&over Boys), Nate Thomas (11-12 Boys), and Ty Thomas (10&under Boys) won individual high point awards for their 1st place rankings in their respective age groups.

The highlights are impressive without a doubt.  However, the entire team contributed to the point total and we made an impact with how we competed and supported each other.  Multiple coaches and parents made the point to connect and let us know how impressive the team was this weekend.  We would like to thank all of our families for their participation and support this season. None of this is possible without your efforts and we are so appreciative of you all for being part of the team.  Have a great summer break and we will look forward to seeing you back in the water as we start the 2019-20 season in a couple of weeks!
