SQUIDS Go the Distance - Results

In a first of its kind meet for our area, the SQUIDS this past weekend hosted a distance-only swim meet at their home pool in South County.  There were a total of 7 teams with 53 swimmers in attendance, of which the Stingrays brought 8.  With 200 meters being the shortest event for ages 9 & up, many of the kids were trying out 400m and even 800m events for the first time.  

It was an interesting format, and a fun "extra" meet to get some more laps in before Regionals & Area.  Congratulations to our swimmers who did take several top spots for their respective age groups in these events!  Also thank you to all of our families in attendance who all worked together to make sure that everyone had sufficient timers and lap counters for every heat!

As a reminder, the deadline for the Central Regional meet is at the end of day Tuesday, 2/21, so anybody who is interested in swimming there should sign up ASAP!  This will be the last meet of the season except for the Heartland Area Championships which can only be attended by those with a qualifying time for one or more events.
