Dave McCrary

Graham Fredman has made his decision to attend Babson College next fall. Graham is a member of our Elite Group and a Senior at Ladue High School. Babson College is a private business school located in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Graham will join the Beavers to swim in the Fall. Babson is a NCAA Division III school that competes in the NEWMAC conference. Please join me in congratulating Graham on his big decision!

For most of our 13 & Over Swimmers, they were able to compete in their first Long Course Meet of the Season and the results were outstanding. Kledi Kadiu broke our Team Record in the 17 – 18 Boys 50 Free and 100 Breast, while Niko Theodos broke the Pool Record in the 400 Free as well as the Meet Record for the 15 & Over Boys. This past weekend, many of our 12 & Under Swimmers competed in their first full Long Course Meet in almost two years. There were relays and many fast times to be had at this meet and some, a whole lot of racing! Mason Voss set three 10 & Under Meet Records in the 50 Free, 100 Fly and 200 IM. Nora Lee Brown and Trey Cunneen competed at Open Water Junior Nationals in the 5K race in Fort Myers, Florida. The race took place this morning, Saturday April 17th. Both Nora Lee and Trey did a great job! Trey finished in 9th place in the Men's 5K and Nora Lee placed 31st in the Women's 5K.

We just finished a Great Week of Racing at the Speedo Region VIII Spring Sectionals Meet in Jenks Oklahoma. We were very happy to finally be back at Sectionals racing after the meet was cancelled last year while we are on the bus just 10 miles away from the meet. For the 1st time, after many runner-up finishes, we have broken through as Team Champions at Sectionals. We also won the award for the team with the most medals at the meet. This past weekend, CSP took more than 80 athletes to compete at the Empire Swim Club March Mania Meet, that was held in Gladstone, MO. At the meet, Austin Chu broke his own 100 Fly Team and Ozark Record, added the 50 Fly as an Ozark Record (a record that has stood since 1983) and then broke the Team Records in the 100 Free, 100 Back and 200 IM. JD Suarez and Nora Lee Brown have been selected to the 2021 Zone Select Performance Workshop that will be run on Zoom Friday June 25th, 2021. Usually the athletes are invited to a camp, but with Covid the format has been changed to a Workshop. Selection Criteria Each zone's camp will consist of 34 athletes from each competition category. Eric Ji, a member of our Elite Group, has made his verbal commitment to Johns Hopkins University. Eric is a Senior at MICDS. Johns Hopkins is a private research university in Baltimore, Maryland. This years Ozark Division I Champs was different than in years past. This year, it was a virtual meet, and while all of Ozark was invited to participate, 10 teams took the call to compete. Teams were given the chance to race from February 5th – February 28th. They could run a USA Sanctioned Meet, run a meet at practices with watch times, or use times from their swimmers who may have competed at Girl’s State.
