Swimmers Brave the Threat of Snow to swim fast at the MLK Invite

We had a number of families brave the blizzard that never was.  Going to the meet was iffy on many aspects, but all in all the weather held off and made for a fun day for many kids and families on that Saturday and lots of fast swims on Friday and Sunday.

We had a number of swimmers make new sectional cuts as well as swimmers qualifying for Zones by achieving their AAA times for the first time ever!

In the 10 & Under Age Group, winning events were Colin Cunneen and Camden Theodos.  Placing in the Top 8 were Austin Chu, Jordyn Hamrah, Camille Matlock, Maitland Michaelson, Mia Panic, Mia Singer and Ema Stojicevic.  Finishing in the Top 16 were Jane Hill and Alicia Williams, while also traveling to the meet were Leela Anadkat and Diego Carrero Archambault.

The girls Medley Relay Team of Mia, Jordyn, Ema and Mia were 3rd, while Kathryn Carr, Alicia, Maitland and Jane were 6th.  For the Boys, Colin, Camden, Austin and Lucas Theodos were 2nd.

In the 11 – 12 Age Group, Abby Carr, Daniel Garza, Xander Theodos and Tommy Wickersham all won individual events.  Placing in the Top 8 were Casey Chu, Grace Coppel, Bennett Cuculich, Joseph DiGuiseppe, Macie DiGuiseppe, Luke Gill, Charlie Hill, Jacqueline Hu, Caitlin Kuhlmann, Lindsay Naber, Hannah Renaud, Lily Ta, Austin Theodos, Lexi Theodos and Emma Welch.  Those swimmers who finished in the Top 16 were Karson Bluette, Avery Cunneen, Sophia Goodwin, Katie Laffey, Penny Riswadkar, Madeleine Williams and Meg Willmann.  Also traveling to race in Indy were Bella Anadkat, Sonia Archambault, Kaitlyn Cragg, Anya Desai and Ella Welch.

In the Girls Medley Relays, Caitlin, Abby, Lindsay and Grace were 3rd, while Avery, Jacqueline, Hannah and Macie were 4th.  For the Boys, Luke, Daniel, Xander and Tommy won while Casey, Charlie, Joseph and Austin were 4th.

In the Girls Free Relays, Sophia, Macie, Lindsay and Abby were 4th, while Hannah, Lexi, Karson and Avery were 6th.  Daniel, Austin, Xander and Tommy won for the Boys.

For the 13 – 14 Year Olds, Sophie Henriksen, Cameron McCrary and Lee Naber.  Placing in the Top 8 were Margaret Beimdiek, Jessica Briers, Trey Cunneen, Sarah Donohue, Madelyn Schoedel, Niko Theodos, Abby Wickersham and Graham Zucker.  Finishing in the Top 16 were Aidan Brawer and Emily Dieckhaus, while also competing at the MLK Invite was Kailyn Womer.

In the Medley Relays, Sarah, Jessica, Sophie and Abby were 3rd for the Girls and Lee, Niko, Cameron and Graham were 2nd for the Boys.

Sarah, Sophie, Jessica and Margaret were 3rd for the Girls Free Relay, while Lee, Cameron, Niko and Graham won.

In the 15 & Over Age Group, placing in the Top 8 were Koji Barrette, Steven Busch, Benjamin Evra, Jared Fang, Samuel Garza, Eric Ji, Andrew O’Brien, Patrick Unterreiner and Wil Welch.  Finishing in the Top 16 were Alex Fox, Jackson Fox and Graham Fredman, while Charlie Krasnoff also competed in the meet

In the Medley Relays, Eric, Patrick, Wil and Koji were 3rd and Steven, Benjamin, Graham and Sam were 6th

For the Free Relays, Benjamin, Eric, Koji and Steven were 3rd, while Patrick, Wil, Sam and Graham were 6th.
