Swimming 101

Tsunami coaches use a combination of Critical Swim Speed (CSS) training and Ultra Short Race Pace Training (USRPT) to develope a workout plan that trains both the aerobic and anaerobic systems. CSS is used to increase swimmers' threshold speed -- a speed that can be maintained over longer distances. USRPT is used to train swimmers physically and psychologically for specific races. We believe that using these training techniques will help our swimmers become well-rounded in the sport. We use these training techniques in 3-8 week phases throughout the season. Below are some helpful links that explain CSS and USRPT:

Parents: Nutrition
