Great performances at Winter Jr. Nationals West

2021 West Speedo Winter Junior Nationals
PAC was represented by Hazel Derr and Adrian Clement
Hazel's first event was the 200 I.M. swimming a best time of 2:06.04 and dropping .49 in the process . In her second event, she swam the 100 backstroke in a 55.62 and was seeded #56 coming in and finished #45. Her last event was the 200 backstroke where she went under 1:59 for the first time swimming a 1:58.96 in the prelims and advancing to the B finals where she swam even faster and finished the event in 13th position overall with a time of 1:58.49 and breaking the team record for the second time in a day.
Adrian's first event was the 50 freestyle where he swam a solid 20.87. His second event was the 100-butterfly swimming a best time of 50.03; very close to breaking the 50 second mark. His third event was the 100-freestyle, swimming a best time of 45.56 and dropping almost a full second from his previous best time.
He finished his meet with a 50-freestyle timed trial where he swam another best time of 20.58!
This was a great experience for our swimmers, parents and coaches, there’s always something to learn when you compete against the best swimmers in the west coast. As a result our members grow and have more experience and knowledge. Now we keep working hard towards the next one!
