As you probably expected the SWCC and MSCC stroke clinics at Lacamas have been canceled for today, 9/13, as a result of the poor air quality. We hope to have in-person practices/ clinics back in action as soon as the air quality returns to a healthier level. While we plan to always send out email cancellations on the day of a canceled practice, we want to share our criteria for cancellations: If AQI is greater then 150 we will not hold any outdoor practice. It was awesome to see 50 PAC athletes back in action at the Lacamas meet! This was the first time our swimmers had raced in a sanctioned competition since early March and it did not disappoint! While adhering to social distancing protocols and literally wearing masks until seconds before the race, PAC swimmers brought great energy and raced hard. It was fun to see the competitiveness of our athletes come out again and the team spirit was as strong as ever. Meet results are now uploaded and you can read...

You probably saw on our initial programming email that OW swimming was a significant piece of our September programming schedule....

Hi PAC families! As most of you know, the majority of pools in Oregon are closed even though gyms and other athletic facilities are open. Hazel Derr, Fallon DeWitt, and I are organizing a video to send to Oregon lawmakers to show the impact and importance that competitive swimming holds in our lives. We are contacting teams across the Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties, and would love it if you all could contribute a 5-20 second video where you explain why you love swimming. There should be a flyer attached...

Over the past week we have experienced fear, pain, and anger, and have been watching calls for justice in the wake of actions that have severely impacted black communities across the nation and here in Portland. PAC’s staff and board want to reaffirm our commitment to listening to, educating, and empowering our young athletes in and out of the pool. We believe in diversity, inclusion, and freedom regardless of race, gender, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, background and interests, and condemn racism and discrimination. It is our responsibility of leadership to...
