Bio

Andre has a long history in swimming, together with a fantastic set of accomplishments. As a Stanford Graduate, Andre was two-time PAC-10 Champion in the 100 Breast, and was a three-time Collegiate All-American.

Since Andre arrived in 2007: QSS and ALMA swimmers have achieved 4 Olympic trials cuts, 4 CCS victories, dozens of National Age Group Top 10 times, sectional 1st place finish, and several JO and Far Western champions. Quicksilver and ALMA hosted multiple Far Western Championship meets and  JO meets. QSS has been the flagship program for the CSA league and championship meet as well. Previously, Andre was Head Coach and Owner of North Florida Swimming (NFS - USS) and Assistant Coach for the University of North Florida’s Women’s Swim Team. His swimmers broke 12 Florida State age-group records, had 10 short course and 5 long course NRT top-16 times, including National Age-Group Record -- current 100m backstroke world record holder Ryan Murphy.  Andre helped coach the university squad to two conference championships in the Southern States conference. He also coached a summer league team to a 39-3 dual meet record in seven years with the club, and, prior to NFS, was Head Coach of the Holmes Tigershark Swim Team (USS) for four years.

Andre has a natural desire to continue to learn more about the sport, and to stay current with the latest ideas in swimming.

We are excited about Andre’s background and knowledge in stroke technique and conditioning!

As a swim coach I have been successfully bringing swimming to the masses.

I have coached in four states for the YMCA, Sierra Nevada Swimming, Inland Empire Swimming, and Pacific Swimming. I founded a team in Fernley, NV and taught/trained two non swimming moms to take it over (Fernley Sharks still exists with Lupe Schaefer as the CEO. My experience teaching lessons and coaching summer league helped to establish better access for rural communities like Fernley, NV, Ephrata and Wenatchee, WA.

I swam competitively for 16 years, specializing in Fly, Back and IM. During that time, she swam for Northview Terrace, Big Bend Manta Rays, Lake Forest College and University of Illinois at Chicago In my lifetime, I have seen the number of female to male coaches balance out; now, I am interested in seeing more women establish themselves in the upper tier of coaches for this sport.

I like coaching challenges from learning and physical disabilities to growth and hormone transitions. I coach triathletes and adults as well as young athletes. I think swimming is a lifesport.

I am currently coaching masters. I swam competitively 10years and started coaching in 2017, soon affter being at QSS as a mom of a swimmer, then as a masters swimmer and I eventually started coaching. I have coached 10 and unders level 1 - 4.  I'd like to think that I have helped young athletes develop a love for swimming. It is my belief that people can achieve their highest potential when they enjoy what they are doing.

While I coach, with patience and encouragement I help kids see their potential and develop a desire to reach it. Through fun practices and encouraging a healthy competitive environment, I see my swimmers develop self confidence while also learning how to be a great team mate.

I think I bring a fun energy onto the pool deck!

I have been coaching since 2015 and have coached some of the top 100 athletes in the country. I look to become somebody who the kids can talk to about anything and are willing to trust.  I was a competitive swimmer for 15+ years.

It is my goal to get these young swimmers to love the sport of swimming as much as I did growing up.

I've always enjoy seeing swimmers being able to overcome a goal that they set up for themselves. I think that being able to help them achieve their goals, weather big or small, is a great attribute to bring to the team.
