Dear Santa Clara Swim Club Families:

As most of you are aware, we are hosting two large meets in April- the Far Western Championships and the Pacific Masters Championships.  Over the course of these two weeks, we expect to have over 2000 competitors!

This year, in conjunction with both meets, the Santa Clara Swim Club will partner with the Second Harvest Food Bank, which feeds 260,000 Bay area residents per month.  From April 1- April 16, the Second Harvest Food Bank will provide three large bins at the ISC for food donations.  We invite our swimming community to join us in fighting back against hunger by donating food.  Specifically, they are asking for the following items:

  • Canned tuna, chicken or salmon
  • Peanut butter
  • Meals in a can (soup, stew, chili)
  • Low-sodium canned vegetables
  • Canned fruit in its own juice or water
  • Olive or canola oil
  • Spices (cinnamon, chili powder, cumin, salt-free spice blends)
  • Canned foods with pop-top lids
  • Low-sugar whole grain cereals
  • Healthy snacks (granola bars, nuts, dried fruit)

Any donation you feel comfortable giving is deeply appreciated. With your support we can make a positive impact in the mission to alleviate hunger.
