Water Polo - 18 & Unders

About the group

Athletes 9th grade and older participate in 2 hour-long practices, focused on fundamentals and teamwork. egg-beater while working on fundamental passing and body position skills. The second half of practice usually involves shooting drills, frontcourt work, and counter-attack drills. The goal of the Santa Clara program is to develop athletes for high school varsity, national-level competitions, and collegiate level water polo.

Requirements

Expectations / Required skills

  • Proven attendance record of missing no more than 2 practices per month

  • Has mastered balancing a high level of an academic workload with elite-level athlete requirements

  • Has made Santa Clara Water Polo and teammates the highest priority extracurricular activity

 

Age Eligibility

A player's age division is determined by the athlete's age on August 1st of the year in which the tournament is being held.

  • Example: If a player is 14 years old on August 1, they are eligible to compete in the 14&U division. If an athlete turns 15 on or before August 1st, his/her age is 15 on August 1st and is therefore no longer eligible for the 14&U division. They are, however, able to participate in the 16&U division.
