Congrats to the Westside Water Polo players who made the USA Water Polo 'ODP' teams for next weekend's championship tournament! The Olympic Development Program (ODP) serves as the primary feeder system for the USA Water Polo Youth, Cadet, and Development National Teams. The foundation of ODP is a systematic, long-term approach to athlete, coach, and referee development through a year-round training program. Westside Aquatics is pleased to announce that Kristin Bartlett was named as a member of the 2017-18 USA Swimming  Scholastic All American Team.  Kristen received this award for her outstanding work not only in the pool but also in the classroom. She worked very hard to earn 4.0 GPA and a 2017 Winter Junior National cut in the 100 backstroke going a 56.14.   Here are is a little more insight of what she needed to do in order to earn this award:             Grade completion requirement – applicant must have completed 9th, 10th 11th or 12th grade           GPA Requirement – minimum 3.5...

2018 Summer Junior Olympic Championships Nearly 1000 of the best swimmers in Southern California, including 28 Westside Aquatics athletes, convened July 25-29 in the state’s unofficial BBQ capital, Santa Maria, to compete for the 2018 SoCal Swimming Junior Olympic Championships!   Our Women’s Team showed out with 1,079 points, which was good for 3rd place out of 37 scoring teams.  Our Men posted a respectable 197 points to place 14th of 34 scoring teams.  The two genders combined for a very solid 5th place finish overall.   Congratulations to our entire...

Open Water JOs We had five swimmers representing Westside at Castaic Lake for the Open Water Junior Olympics. The start was in-water, making it more challenging than other open water swims. They had to swim a 3 lap course, each lap equaling 1k. But all five swimmers met the challenge and completed the 3K course while smiling at the end!
