Chinook COVID-19 Practice Guidelines
Commitment to Return in Compliance with the State's COVID Guidelines

Objective: Swimming Safely


·  Swimmers who test positive for COVID by a molecular or antigen test can return to practice when the following criteria are met:

  • 10 days since symptom onset, or since positive test specimen collection date if no symptoms are present 
  • AND 24 hours after fever resolves without use of fever-reducing medications 
  • AND symptoms have improved

This isolation guidance applies regardless of vaccination status.

·  Swimmers who have been exposed to an individual who has tested positive for Covid-19. Those that are fully vaccinated without symptoms can still attend practice. If you’re fully vaccinated and exposed to someone AND you have symptoms, you must quarantine for 3 days and then provide a negative COVID-19 test before returning to practice.  If you are unvaccinated, you should take a COVID-19 test after 3-5 days and stay home for 7 days.


·  Swimmers will arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before the scheduled start of practice. 

·  Swimmers will arrange drop off and pick up outside the facility. Swimmers cannot congregate in the swim facility or on the deck. 

·  Use of locker rooms are to be at a minimal amount of time to avoid congregating.  

·  All swimmers must arrive at the pool in their swimsuit. 

·  Bring a water bottle. Water fountains are off limits. 

·  Do not attend practice if you or a member of your household are not feeling well. 

·  No observers are allowed on the deck or in the facilities. 

·  The use of community equipment or sharing equipment is not allowed. No gear is available. All swimmers must bring their own gear. 

·  No observers are allowed on the deck or in the facilities. 

·  There is zero tolerance for all members attending practices when it comes to violating set policies. 


All swimmers must answer the following before considering coming to practice. Please ask yourself the following questions every day: 

·  Have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID‐19?

·  Are you experiencing a cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat?

·  Have you had a fever in the last 48 hours?

·  Have you had a loss of taste or smell?

·  Have you had vomiting or diarrhea in the last 48 hours?

If any swimmers answer "yes" to any of these questions, they must notify their coach and will not be allowed to enter the facility.

If there is a confirmed COVID Case by a Team Member:

If a Chinook member who has attended a Chinook practice within 10 days tests positive for COVID‐19, Chinook will follow the current state and local Department of Health guidelines. 

If a swimmer complains of COVIDlike symptoms during practice: 

·  The swimmer will immediately be separated from the other swimmers and will put on a facial covering.

·  The swimmer, in the care of a team representative, will immediately exit the facility and the swimmer's parents will be notified.

·  Aquatic Center staff must immediately be notified, and will disinfect all "high touch" surfaces.
