2023 WA Open Meet Recap

2023 WASHINGTON OPEN RECAP

On January 12th-15th, 41 IST athletes traveled to King County Aquatic Center for the 46th Annual Washington Open meet. This competition was the first of our Short Course 2 event cycle for Senior athletes.

Before the meet, athletes and coaches discussed setting appropriate expectations for a competition occurring relatively quickly after our winter training break. Athletes had the opportunity to swim events that they had not swam since early December and still found success in achieving second swims. As this was a designated championship meet, athletes had the opportunity to wear tech suits in pursuit of second swims.

Our next competition will be the 2023 Winter Challenge at Mt. Tahoma High School on January 28th!
