WEST Chosen for USA Swimming's Mentor Coach Program

WEST has been selected to participate in USA Swimming's Mentor Coach Program. This means we will have a three-day club visit by Mentor Coach Ed Spencer. This program has been in existence since 2004 with hundreds of clubs having benefited from these visits from one of our Mentor Coach Consultants.

The purpose of the visit is to consult and reinforce our coaching staff as well as to challenge our swimmers and raising their levels of expectation. This is a time where we will be able to share team building ideas, as well as learn new ideas from Coach Ed Spencer based on personal experiences and visits to other clubs.

Coach Ed Spencer has almost forty years coaching experience which includes Head Coaching positions at: Industry Hills (1983-1991), Reno Aquatic Club (1991-1998) and Dynamo Swim Club (1998-2004). As a Mentor Coach, Ed has visited almost 300 programs since 2005

Coach Ed will be with WEST next week May 13 - 15, and will be working with our club team swimmers & coaches these days.
