Staffing Shortage Forces Schedule Reduction

Nick Chevalier

Like many businesses across many different industries, we are facing significant staff shortages. Swim Meet weekends and last minute employee emergencies are placing additional pressure on an already strained situation and we have zero wiggle room. Our full-time coaches have been covering as needed, but working 7 days and well over 40 hours a week to do so. This is not sustainable long-term and we cannot risk losing our key employees. We will be temporarily making some schedule changes and have to unfortunately reduce some program offerings. As we get more employees hired and trained, we will work towards returning to full operations.

The following changes will go into effect November 1st:

The WEST Facility will be CLOSED on Sundays. Weekend Lap & Open Swim will ONLY be offered on Saturdays. If anyone wishes to cancel their membership due to this inconvenience, please email [email protected] so we can pause your account, there are no penalties for doing so.

Weekend Lessons: we will ONLY be offering lessons on Saturdays. Classes will be increased to 45min to help maintain swimmer progression and the price will be adjusted. Please note that swimmers in Weekend Only Lessons may take longer to move through each level since they will have less frequency in the water. If anyone, especially in beginner levels, is able to move to weekday mornings, we are running classes 10-11am and this is a great (and quiet) time for younger kids to learn.

Pre-Comp & SwimFit: All groups will practice together on Saturdays 9-10am. There will not be practice on Sundays for the Tues/Thurs groups.

The following changes will go into effect IMMEDIATELY

Club Team Changes for FRIDAYS: (changes marked in RED

We apologize for the inconvenience, we weighed several different options and this seems to minimize the impact and allow us to continue to serve the greatest number of swimmers. If anyone has reliable friends or family looking for part-time work, we are looking to hire several new swim lessons instructors and lifeguards. Please email [email protected] to inquire or apply.

We value our employees, as we do all members of our community. Thank you for your continued support and patience as we navigate these unprecedented times.
