Plans for March Meets

Program Operations and the Technical Planning Committee concluded their initial planning efforts to develop March meets.  The objective remains unchanged: to provide the opportunity for as many swimmers as possible to compete at a March meet at the conclusion of the short course season.  The challenge is to create meets that are large enough to be financially viable while not too large to exceed the restrictions and operating limitations of Weyerhauser King County Aquatic Center.  In addition, the meet should provide a competitive challenge to the athletes and to provide the individuals with opportunities to improve their results.

The first March meet at KCAC will be the Washington State Age Group Championships scheduled for March 18 – 20.  This will be a three-day Prelim / Finals meet for swimmers aged 11 – 18.  Athletes from PNS as well as swimmers from either Inland Empire or Oregon Swimming who reside in Washington are all eligible to enter.  Swimmers who have achieved a qualifying time for the Senior Sectional meet cannot enter this meet.

A second meet, the Spring Fling, will be held the following weekend, March 26 – 27.  This meet will be Timed Finals consisting of a 12&Under session and a 13&Over session on each day.  Qualifying Time Standards will be published for this meet.

PNS is seeking clubs willing to host each of these meets.

As previously announced, the NW Spring Speedo Sectional meet will be conducted in Phoenix, AZ and the Four Corners Spring Speedo Sectional will be at the University of Texas. Both meets are scheduled for March 24 - 27, 2022.  There are Qualifying Time Standards for these meets.
