Swimmers are placed in a group that fits both their age and appropriate skill level.  All swimmers develop at different speeds!  Our groups are designed to "overlap" to allow the swimmer time to practice the skills needed at the rate that is appropriate for ability level.  

 

 

  

Pre-White Group
Ages: 5-11

  • Practices offered 4 days per week for 45 minutes per session.  Swimmers are recommended to attend 2-3 workouts a week. 
  • Focus on skill development and helping the younger swimmer transition from a summer league or swim lessons into understanding of our expectations at CCA
  • The goal of the group is to keep the participants limited to keep a great swimmer-to-coach ratio to allow more personal attention for the swimmers.
  • The group will become our ‘bridge’ into our full Age Group Program
  • Competes in the appropriate meets scheduled by the coach.
  • Equipment required: Snorkel, Kickboard (all recommended Jr sized), Sporti Floating fins, Mesh Equipment Bag.  OPTIONAL: Fin Socks. Equipment can be found in the CCA Team Store on Swim Outlet.
  • Pre-requisites for consideration to be placed into White Group:  Attendance at 66%, Knowledge of 4 competitive strokes, Coach Approval

White Group
Ages 6-11

 

  • Practices offered 5 days per week for one hour per session.  Swimmers are recommended to attend 2-4 workouts a week. 
  • Provides the novice level swimmer with an enjoyable introduction to competitive year-round swimming.Practices focus on developing and improving the 4 competitive strokes and racing techniques of each swimmer.
  • Provides parents and swimmers an introduction to the objectives of the program and the opportunities in swimming
  • Competes in the appropriate meets scheduled by the coach.
  • ​Equipment Required (all are recommended Jr sized): Snorkel, Kickboard, Fins, Mesh Equipment Bag. Optional Items: Socks.  Equipment can be found in the CCA Team Store on Swim Outlet. 
  • Pre-requisites for consideration for placement into Blue Group: Attendance at 75%, Achieve 2 USA Swimming 10 & Under BB Standard, Meet Attendance, Track/Backstroke Knowledge, Challenge Set Assesment and Coach Approval 

   Blue Group

Ages: 8-11

  • Practices offered 5 days per week for one hour and fifteen minutes.  Swimmers are recommended to attend 3 or more workouts a week 
  • Continues to provide the novice level swimmer with an enjoyable environment of competitive swimming.
  •   Further focusing on the 4 competitive strokes and techniques in racing. 
  • Provides parents and swimmers an introduction to the objectives of the program and the opportunities in swimming.
  • Competes in the appropriate meets scheduled by the coach.
  • Equipment required: Snorkel, Buoy. Kickboard, Fins and Mesh Equipment Bag. Optional Items: Socks.  Equipment can be found in the CCA Team Store on Swim Outlet
  • Pre-requisites for consideration for placement into Red Group: Attendance at 75%, Achieve 2 USA Swimming 11-12 BB Standards, Meet Attendance, attend Qualified Championship Meets, Challenge Set Assesment and Coach Approval.

  Red Group 
Ages: 9-13

  • Practices 5 days per week for one hour & 30 minutes per session with up to two Saturday workouts per month.  Swimmers are recommended to attend 3 or more workouts per week.
  • Continues to provide the swimmer with an enjoyable competitive swimming experience and improves the swimmer’s rankings in age group swimming.
  • Maintaining the 4 competitive strokes of each swimmer, while increasing endurance training, introducing short-range goal setting and enhancing race strategies at swim meets.
  • Teaches parents and swimmers about the objectives of the program and opportunities in swimming.
  • Competes in the appropriate meets scheduled by the coach.
  • Equipment required: Snorkel, Buoy, Kickboard, Fins and Mesh Equipment Bag. Optional Items: Socks.  Equipment can be found in the CCA Team Store on Swim Outlet. 
  • Pre-requisites for consideration for placement into Varsity Group: Attendance at 66%, Meet Attendance, Preparing for High School Swimming, Challenge Set Assesment and Coach Approval and Recommendation.
  • Pre-requisites for consideration for placement into Pre-Senior Group: Attendance at 85%, Multiple SNS JO qualifying Times for Respective Age Group, Acheives Far Western/SWAGR Qualifying Times, Attends Qualified Championship, Challenge Set Assesment and Coach Approval and Recommendation.

 Varsity Group 
Ages 12+

  • Practices 5 times per week for one hour & 30 minutes per session with a Saturday option.
  • Refines technical and competitive skills and increases the emphasis on training.
  • Continues to educate swimmers on goal setting and race strategies. (Short and long term goals.)
  • Teaches parents and swimmers about the objectives of the program and the opportunities in swimming.
  • Swimmers attend and compete in the appropriate meets scheduled by the coach.
  • Provides swimmers with the skills to progress to the Senior Group level.  Additional objectives include training to help swimmer prepare to compete at the high school level.
  • Equipment required: Snorkel, Buoy, Kickboard, Hand Paddles, Fins and Mesh Equipment Bag. Optional Items: Socks and Tempo Trainer.  Equipment can be found in the CCA Team Store on Swim Outlet. 
  • Pre-requisites for consideration for placement into Senior Group: Attendance at 85%, Acheives Senior Zone Qualifying Times, Excellent Student & Strong Time Management, Attends Qualified Championship, Challenge Set Assesment and Coach Approval and Recommendation.

Varsity TRAINING Group

  • We also offer our Training Group as an extension of Varsity for our 13 and Older Swimmers.  It is designed for swimmers who due to other sports, activities or school are only able to attend work-out 3 times per week.  The Training Group is offered to members at a discounted rate.   

 Pre-Senior Group 
Ages: 11-15

  • Practices 7 times per week (5 afternoons, one morning and Saturdays) Each practice is 2 hours per session and Saturdays for 2+ hours.  Dryland training introduced at each practice.
  • Refines technical and competitive skills and increases the emphasis on training.
  • Educates swimmers regarding commitment level and achieving individual goals.
  • Continues to improve the swimmer’s understanding of short-range goal setting and begins to explore long-range goals.
  • Teaches parents and swimmers about the objectives of the program and the opportunities in swimming.
  • Swimmers attend and compete in the appropriate meets scheduled by the coach.
  • Provides swimmers with the opportunity to compete at out-of-town and regional meets (Far Westerns, Sectionals, Western Zones, etc).
  • Provides swimmers with the skills to progress to the Senior Group level.
  • Equipment required: Snorkel, Buoy, Kickboard, Hand Paddles, Fins and Mesh Equipment Bag. Optional Items: Socks, Tempo Trainer, Sculling Paddle, Recovery Roller and Nose Clip.  Equipment can be found in the CCA Team Store on Swim Outlet. 
  • Pre-requisites for consideration for placement into Senior Group: Attendance at 85%, Acheives Senior Zone Qualifying Times, Excellent Student & Strong Time Management, Attends Qualified Championship, Challenge Set Assesment and Coach Approval and Recommendation.

 Senior Group   
Ages: 13+

  • Practice is held Monday through Saturday, 3 hours per workout with 2-3 double practices per week.  Dryland training is included in each practice.
  • Provides the experienced swimmer with an environment to achieve excellence in competitive swimming.
  • The Senior Group provides inspiration to all swimmers on the team.Teaches the swimmer to take responsibility for his or her swimming goals.
  • Improves the swimmer’s understanding of maintaining a commitment level that is consistent with his or her goals. 
  • Increases the emphasis on the specificity of the swimmer’s training.
  • Attends and competes in the appropriate meets scheduled by the coach including regional and national level meets.
  • Prepares swimmers to continue their swimming journey at the collegiate level.
  • Equipment required: Snorkel, Buoy, Kickboard, Hand Paddles, Fins and Mesh Equipment Bag. Optional Items: Socks, Tempo Trainer, Sculling Paddle, Recovery Roller and Nose Clip.  Equipment can be found in the CCA Team Store on Swim Outlet. 
  • Swimmer Must Maintain 85% Attendance & Compete in Championship Meets in order to stay in Senior Group
