Moons Aquatics Club is committed to providing a safe, supportive environment and protecting your swimmers by following the Safe Sport Policies as defined by USA Swimming. Moons Aquatics Club has additional policies to further create a safe environment specific to our club. If Moons Aquatics Club policy and USA swimming policy overlap, USA swimming policy will prevail.

MAC Bullying Policy

Bullying of any kind is unacceptable at Moons Aquatics Club and will not be tolerated. Bullying is counterproductive to team spirit and can be devastating to a victim. Moons Aquatics Club is committed to providing a safe, caring and friendly environment for all of our members. If bullying does occur, all athletes and parents should know that incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively. Anyone who knows that bullying is happening is expected to tell a coach, board member or athlete/mentor.

Recognizing and Reporting 

Mandatory reporting: Pursuant to federal law, all adults authorized to interact with minor or amateur athletes who learn of facts that give reason to suspect that a child has suffered an incident of child abuse, including sexual abuse, shall make a report of the suspected abuse to law enforcement and/or your state's designated agency within 24 hours.

SAFE SPORT for Parents Online Course


 

USA Swimming LEARN Platform Athletes and parents can independently complete the training sessions using the USA Swimming LEARN platform. 

For athletes: 

1. Visit www.usaswimming.org/learn. 2. Enter your last name, first name and date of birth into the search parameters boxes. Click “Search”. 3. Click “Continue” next to your name. 4. Click “Go to Learn”. 5. Select “Courses” at the top. 6. For athletes ages 12-18, click on the Safe Sport for Athletes course and complete the course using the prompts. 7. For athletes over the age of 18, click on SafeSport Training for Adult Athletes. 

 For parents:

1. Visit https://learn.usaswimming.org/ 2. Click “Register”. 3. Click “Create Account” in the Non-Member Access box. 4. Follow the prompts to register an account. 5. Click “Courses.” 6. In Parent’s Guide to Misconduct in Sport, select “Add to Cart”. 7. Click “Checkout”. 8. Enter the requested billing address information and click “Order”. [Note: the course is free] 9. Click “Dashboard”. 10. Select the Parent’s Guide to Misconduct in Sport course to start. 11. Complete the course using the prompts.

 


 

CLUB POLICY

 

A. Classes

1. The length of each session varies depending on the facility in which the swim lessons are held. Evaluations are usually conducted 2 weeks before the session ends.  

2. There are 4 levels' classes and each level is characterized. Each week’s lesson is designed to reach a specific goal. So please do not skip lessons.

3. Please wear the designated Moons Aquatics Club swim cap at all times during the swim lesson.

4. Please arrive 15 minutes early and be ready and in your swimsuit 5 minutes before the class starts.

5. The duration of each class is 55 minutes. The maximum number of students for each class is up to 6. (Learn to swim class Level 1,2,3,4)

6. If you, the parent, need to communicate with your particular swim coach please do so before or after class only. We don’t allow interruptions of this nature once class commences.  

7. Evaluations are conducted by the head coach and instructor following a preset evaluation guide.

8. Registration is accepted on a first come first serve basis with PAYMENT ONLY as long as there is a spot available.

 

B. Makeup classes & Rescheduling, 

B-1. Makeups

1. Due to our weekly pre-set program, the classes will proceed with the program regardless of the individuals’ absence.  

2. Please submit the Absence & Makeup form in any case of absence. We recommend reporting 2 days prior to your absence or even sooner. A same day notification of absence will forfeit the privilege of a makeup.

3. Make-up classes are possible throughout the session, but are limited to be scheduled in a facility that has space available for the makeups.

4. Limit of makeups per session is only 2 times due to personal matters (e.g vacation, conflict in schedule, and/or unforeseen events). Make-up classes are scheduled within the current session within the max limit of 2.  

5. Once a make-up has been scheduled, it may NOT be rescheduled.

6. It is the members’ responsibility to submit the Absence & Makeup form and arrange the makeups for missed classes. Any missed classes over the max limit will not be rolled over to the next session or be carried over to any other session thereafter.

7. Any pending makeups from a prior session will not be used as credit to enroll in any future sessions.  

 

B-2. Exceptions

1. Cancellations due to weather or facilities matters do not apply to the above rule of notification from the parent unless we are still having lessons and the parent chooses not to attend. 

2. Long-term registrants for Mini Team & Swim Team cannot be made up.

3. Seasonal registrants for Mini Team & Swim Team can be  made up.

 

C. Inclement Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather, practice cancellations will be posted on the MAC swimming website and club twitter account, @MACswimming by 12:00 pm of that day and emailed to all current MAC swimming registered members through the Team Unify.

Safe travel conditions must be a priority for everyone. Please use good judgment in considering practice attendance during challenging weather conditions. If MAC swimming practice is being held during periods of inclement weather, that does not mean MAC swimming guarantees safe travel.

Note: If you are not receiving emails from MAC swimming, you will not receive practice cancellations as the same system will be used.

 

D. Payment Policies

1. Meet Entry Fees will be billed on the 1st of the month following the meet entry deadline.  Once meet entries have been sent to the meet host, no refunds are available even if you do not swim the meet or events (approximately two weeks before the meet).

2. MAC is a yearlong program with year-round commitments. Team dues represent a large part of the operating expense of our swim team. Team dues are structured as annual fees.  You will remain responsible for all fees even if you leave the team before the end of the season.  Team dues are non-refundable unless the program is terminated by the team.

​3. You can access your account anytime by logging in on our website at www.moonsaqauticsclub.com and selecting “my account” to view your account and verify all charges. Please contact the team administrator if you have any questions regarding your account.

4. Payment plans are available for long-term registrants in four payment installments(Sep,Nov,Jan,Mar). 

 

E. Refund Policy 

MAC swimming  is a yearlong program with year-round commitments.  Team dues represent a large part of the operating expense of our swim club. Team dues are structured as annual fees.  You will remain responsible for all fees even if you leave the team before the end of the season.  Team dues are non-refundable unless the program is terminated by the club.

 

E. Use of Swimming Pools

If you want to use swimming pools before and/or after swimming class, you must pay the admission to the swimming pools office in advance.

 

F. Volunteer Policy

Volunteers can be a great asset to any organization and help enrich all aspects of our program. Family participation is necessary to ensure the continued success of the team. Throughout you and your family’s association with MAC, we ask you to support the team through volunteer activities. The main events that require many volunteers are swim meets. Each swimmer’s parent is required to volunteer 6 times per year. Total volunteer hours can be found under the family’s account, which can be viewed after you log in to the system.
