Level 1 Fundamental Aquatic Skills

AGE 5-12

REQUIREMENTS None

OBJECTIVE To help swimmers feel comfortable in the water and to give students success with fundamental skills

SKILLS COVERED Entering water by stepping or jumping in from the side, submerging entire head, blowing bubbles, open eyes underwater, front and back glide

GOALS Freestyle 25 yard


 

Level 2 Stroke Development

AGE 5-12

REQUIREMENTS Freestyle 25 yard

OBJECTIVE To develop confidence in the strokes learned thus far and to improve other aquatic skills by increasing endurance through swimming greater distances

GOALS Freestyle 25 yard, Backstroke 25 yard


 

MINI-PREP

Level 3-4 Stroke Improvement / Stroke Refinement

AGE 6-11

REQUIREMENTS Swimmers must be at least level 2 in Learn To Swim class. Swimmers can swim 25 yards without stopping using freestyle and backstroke on their own.

OBJECTIVE To develop confidence in the strokes learned thus far and to improve other aquatic skills by increasing endurance through swimming greater distances/ Coordination and refinement of strokes/ Swimmers will learn freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and fly as well as starts and turns for swim meets. 

GOALS Freestyle 100 yard, Backstroke 100 yard, Breaststroke 100 yard, Butterfly 25 yard, 100IM, Start & Turn, Attending Swim Meet


 

MINI TEAM

AGE 7-14

REQUIREMENTS Swimmer entering this level must have passed the Development Level or have demonstrated all the Development Level skills; Freestyle 100 yard, Backstroke 100 yard, Breaststroke 100 yard, Butterfly 25 yard, Start & Turn

OBJECTIVE Refine strokes so swimmers can swim them with more ease, efficiency, power and smoothness over greater distances

GOALS Freestyle 200 yard, Backstroke 200 yard, Breaststroke 200 yard, Butterfly 50 yard, 100IM, Start & Turn, Attending Swim Meet

- Bring fins, centermount snorkel, and paddles to every practice.

REQUIREMENTS Freestyle 200 yard, Backstroke 200 yard, Breaststroke 200 yard, Butterfly 50 yard, 100IM, Start & Turn

OBJECTIVE Swimmers will train all strokes, speeds, and technique in support of IM-based training and competition.

GOALS Freestyle 500 yard, Butterfly 200 yard, 200IM & 400IM, Attending Championship Meet

- Bring fins, pull-buoy, centermount snorkel, and paddles to every practice.


 

MAC KNIGHTS is our club’s new competitive program for 13-18 year-olds. It offers four early morning practices at 4:30am-6:15am@MP on Tue, Wed, Thu, and Fri. 

A swimmer's USA Swimming path begins at the state-level Junior Olympics (JOs) meet, progresses to Zones and Sectionals, and then moves onto the “national” stage at Junior Nationals and the Futures Championships.

 

Our club's competitive swimmers can continue their journey through the new program, MAC KNIGHTS 13+ which is launching on Aug 22, 2022. This program will drive swimmers who are ready for a higher level of training to their maximum potential. read more>
