Record Setting Performance at the Marlins Invitational

Bill Marlin

Caleb Camet had a record setting kind of weekend at the Marlins Invitational held at the University of Maryland's Eppley Recreation Center this past weekend.

Caleb established new team records in the 11-12 boys 50 back (27.31), 200 back (2:10.24), 100 fly (56.68), 200 fly (2:16.32) and the 100 IM. (1:00.22)  Caleb broke his own team records in the two backstroke events but he broke two very fast records in the 100 fly and 100 IM that date back to 2008, previously held by one of our fastest 12 yr olds ever, Jake Urbano.  Caleb is the first Marlin swimmer to break 57 seconds in the 100 fly and his 100 IM time is almost under the 1:00 mark.  I guess all eyes will be on him to see if he can crack the one minute barrier in the event at the Winter Classic meet.  Caleb's other record in the 200 fly erased a mark held since 2016.

The coaching staff would like to congratualte Caleb on his record setting performances from this past weekend. We are certain that we will be seeing and hearing more about this young man in the near future.  Great Job Caleb, Keep it going!

There were MANY great swims at the Marlins Invite and the November Open so we also want to give a big shout out to all those that swam best times and had personal record setting performances!  Keep up the great work!!
