Hello Potomac Marlins:

The 2022-23 season registration is now open.   Please read this document in its entirety since our registration process has changed

The 2022-23 practice schedules for each pool are posted on the web site under the TEAM INFO tab.  The registration forms for each of the pools are located under the 2022-23 REGISTRATION tab to the left of the TEAM INFO tab.

As noted, the registration process has changed to create a more user-friendly experience and significantly help the coaching staff keep track of registrations as they come in making sure program choices are closed as soon as they become full.  Please also be aware, USA Swimming is changing their registration (membership and insurance) procedures as well. We will keep all members posted on any additional steps that may be required as the information becomes available.

  1. Each Marlins practice pool now has its own designated registration form.  Registrants will select the pool of their choice from the drop-down menu on the home page nav bar under the tab 2022-23 REGISTRATION. Please be sure you click on the 22-23 registration link for the pool you want.


    On this form you will be asked three important questions.
    1. What year will the 2022-23 season be with the Marlins?  This is important for ordering the correct outfitting package for each swimmer.
    2. What program is being selected for each swimmer. If your swimmer will NOT be in the same program as the 2021-22 current season, you must have promotion approval from the swimmer’s primary deck coach.
    3. Once the correct program has been chosen, you will see a drop-down menu of the available days and times per week at the pool you have selected. You are instructed to choose the specific days from this list.  Be sure to choose correctly because these selections will represent your reservation.  Changes to these selections can only be made if the other days/times are NOT full at the time of the request.  Our hope is that the Google form will alert the registrant if/when a selection is no longer available because it has reached capacity.

Your program choice determines the number of days per week you should choose.  Choose ONLY the number of days for which you have registered to swim from the available options.

ie. AGSD 2x -  9 month = Choose only 2 practices.
     AGAD 4x - 11 month = Choose only 4 practices.

  1. Registration will open for CURRENT 2021-22 swimmers on May 11, 2022 on a first come basis. Returning swimmers are guaranteed space on the 2022-23 team until midnight on May 31st.  Registration will open to NEW TEAM MEMBERS on June 1st, 2022 on a first come and equal basis with returning members.  Returning swimmers are not guaranteed space on the 2022-23 team as of June 1st.  The EARLYBIRD payment option will end on June 15th. Extensions will not be made.  Standard registration requires only the $500 registration deposit to reserve your space.
  2. The first batch of outfitting will be ready for distribution at the Outfitting Day event on September 25, 2022 for ALL swimmers who register PRIOR to midnight on August 20th, 2022. (same date every year).  Swimmers who register AFTER August 20th will be considered batch #2 or later and will not have their outfitting until mid- October 2022.

Potomac Marlins Membership Contract (COPIED from Reg. Form)
Please read below to familiarize yourself with the instructions you will see…

Thank you for choosing the Potomac Marlins U.S.A. Swimming Team.  It is our honor and privilege to be a part of your swimmer's social, emotional, and physical education and we enthusiastically welcome them into our family of hard-working, goal driven, team-spirited student athletes. The following information is offered to aid and assist you with the on-line registration process. PLEASE read to the bottom carefully because THERE HAVE BEEN CHANGES.  If you need assistance or encounter problems at any point, please contact the REGISTRAR right away. 

Procedure:  The on-line registration procedure is simple.  Upon completion you will gain access to your private account which will allow you to sign-up for swim meets, volunteer jobs, and various team events.  Account access will also enable you to view your swimmer's meet time history, maintain personal contact and payment information and more.

  1. Make sure your swimmer is approved by the deck coach for their Registration Group prior to initiating the on-line registration process. Placement evaluations are required for all new members. Placement evaluation information can be found under the NEW MEMBER and TEAM INFORMATION tabs on the website homepage.
  2. NOTE:  You must complete the registration process in one sitting.  If you wait, it will timeout and you will have to start again.
  3. Be sure to have a credit card and/or checking account information prior to entering the system. Please note that we do NOT accept paper checks for team payments. Only credit card or ACH electronic check deposits are accepted. Credit card information is taken during the registration process.  For ACH, you will need to log into your account, once it is "approved by the registrar" and made active, to enter your checking account information.
  4. Look carefully at the practice schedule before starting the registration process and be 100% certain of your approved Registration Group. (pool, program, time of day, days of week, and 9 or 11 months). You have already selected “pool X” as your pool location, but will need to choose the program you want. 
  5. Choosing your program is only the first step.  Within the agreement pages is a google form you MUST COMPLETE.  It allows you to choose or accept the practice days and times.  Without completing this form in agreement 5 in its entirety, your child will NOT be given space in a lane and your registration is not complete.  Please make sure you scroll down and complete the form to select your practice days, then submit.
  6. For the purpose of assuring we deliver the correct outfitting package, we have included a question on the google form. Be sure to know which year your swimmer is in with the Potomac Marlins and which outfitting packages they have already received. Outfitting package information can be found under the TEAM INFO tab on the web site home page.
  7. Be sure to have Emergency Contact and Medical History/Contact information on hand.
  8. Be sure to have the mailing address, phone and e-mail contact information for all responsible parents/guardians.
  9. Complete all required info on the Registration Contract and submit.  If paying by credit card, your card will be charged immediately. If paying by ACH, the payment will be processed on the first day of the next month starting on July 1st.  Please remember, payments are non-refundable once made.
  10. If you do not receive an immediate e-mail confirmation receipt for your registration form, something did go wrong and your registration was not received.  Please contact the Registrar. The receipt only confirms that your registration went through. In order to reserve a physical space on the team, we MUST receive the completed practice selection form. DO not skip agreement 5.
  11. Once your Registration Contract has been accepted and approved, you will receive an e-mail with your system log-in instructions. Registration approvals will begin on June 1st. Please allow up to 3 days for the registration approval process. At that point, we recommend you log in and confirm all of your information and make any necessary changes or additions. Always log in to double check that you selected the correct payment form to "use with all fees associated with my account."
