COACH JOHANN SHIM

Coach Johann grew up in South Korea and moved to Austria where he started swimming competitively at age of 7. He moved to Virginia at age 13 and continued his year round swimming with QDD and NCAP. Coach Johann swam in High School where he represented Robinson Secondary at the VHSL States in 100 Breaststroke and 200 IM Final for all 4 years. He served as team captain for his HS swim team his junior and senior years, where he led the team to win the VHSL State Championship. He was also selected to The Washington Post’s 2013 All-Met Second Team. Coach Johann was also a member of the varsity swim team at George Mason University, a division 1 NCAA school where he specialized in breaststroke and IM. He placed 3rd in A-10 Conference Championship and he set a new school record. He also competed in many National Level Meets. Johann is graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Youth Sports Performance.
